In the case of the new Pro-Ject Elemental Phono USB Final Edition, for example, this means that this drive is not purchased on its own but, as already indicated, with a particularly extensive range of features and accessories.
Minimalist design, outstanding sound
Like the original, the Pro-Ject Elemental Phono USB Final Edition is designed as a turntable whose chassis could not be any smaller, ultimately consisting only of the combination of the three essential components of a record player: motor, platter bearing and tonearm base.
In this turntable, the central centre of gravity is located directly under the platter, with the platter bearing built into a chassis made of artificial stone to completely absorb unwanted rumbling noises and motor vibrations.
The entire turntable, weighing 2,7 kg, measures no more than 415 mm in width, 300 mm in depth and 90 mm in height, whereby the depth of 300 mm is solely due to the platter, a Pro-Ject Acryl it E platter, which has exactly this diameter and is made of semi-transparent acrylic.
An external belt drives the platter, with a two-part pulley on the motor axle to manually set the speed between 33 and 45 revolutions per minute.
The tonearm sits at the other end of the slim chassis. It is an 8.6 inch tonearm made of aluminium and has a particularly low mass but high rigidity and rests in high-quality bearings for particularly precise tracking.
The tonearm of the Pro-Ject Elemental Phono USB Final Edition is already fitted ex works with a cartridge system, namely a Pro-Ject Pick it 25A MM cartridge.
Phono preamp and USB recording included
The drive of the Pro-Ject Elemental Phono USB Final Edition is equipped with a phono preamp so that the user does not have to make any additional investments and can easily connect the record player to any audio system.
What’s more, the Pro-Ject Elemental Phono USB Final Edition even has an integrated A/D converter that converts signals at 16 bit and 48 kHz and makes them available for a PC or Mac via a USB-B interface so that records can be digitised directly using USB recording.
Extensive accessories
