- Beautiful design meets first-class sound is how Bowers & Wilkins describes the latest generation of its All-in-One system, now presented as the B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition.
Some people may remember that it was actually many years ago when speaker specialist Bowers & Wilkins first presented its interpretation of an All-in-One system with the B&W Zeppelin in 2007 and was thus regarded as a pioneer. It was one of the first companies in the classic HiFi segment to recognise the potential of such All-in-One systems, which, designed as lifestyle solutions in the premium segment, addressed completely new customer groups.
Now Bowers & Wilkins presents the latest generation of the B& W Zeppelin, which, according to the manufacturer, is smarter and more flexible than ever before and has never sounded as good as the new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition does.
From All-in-One system with Apple iPod dock to wireless smart speaker
It is interesting to note that the B&W Zeppelin can be used to trace the development that the product group of so-called All-in-One systems has undergone over the last few decades.
It all began with a solution that was specially designed for the Apple iPod and therefore had a so-called Apple iPod dock. This was followed by solutions with Bluetooth and WiFi through to the so-called Wireless Smart Speaker, which is what solutions such as the latest generation of such All-in-One systems can be called.
Flexible streaming from a wide variety of sources
The new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition is characterised by the fact that streaming from a wide variety of sources ensures maximum flexibility. The B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition is equipped with a WiFi module and can therefore be easily integrated into the network. This allows it to access a wide range of streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz and TIDAL directly via the corresponding app for Apple iOS and Google Android, the Bowers & Wilkins Music App. It also supports the Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect platforms.
In conjunction with other streaming devices from Bowers & Wilkins, such as another B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition or the Bowers & Wilkins Formation Suite solutions, a multi-room streaming system can of course also be realised.
The new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition is of course equipped with Blueooth for direct connection to smartphones and tablets, using a Bluetooth module that supports SBC and AAC as well as aptX Adaptive.
Hi-res audio and DSP-based signal processing
The new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition is able to process Hi-res audio, using DSP-based signal processing and 24-bit D/A converters, which, according to the manufacturer, should ensure the highest sound quality.
Powerful speaker system
The new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition has no fewer than five drivers, starting with two 25 mm titanium dome tweeters and two 90 mm FTS mid-range drivers, which are supported by a 150 mm subwoofer.
These are driven by an amplifier module with no less than 240 watts of power, as the data sheet reveals.
The new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition should be able to cover a frequency range between 35 Hz and 24 kHz, as can also be seen from the product’s data sheet.
It should also be mentioned that the B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition has a Dynamic EQ and that the designers have come up with a very attractive detail in the form of discreet LED lighting that radiates downwards.
Of course, it should not go unmentioned that the new B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition is also presented in a very elegant design, with customers now having the choice between the colours Space Grey and Solar Gold.
