Story Highlights
  • Harman International is expanding the JBL Quantum Series with five new gaming headsets, promising a thrilling gaming experience with a fashionable touch.

Harman International Industries has always been keen to serve the extremely exciting gaming and eSports sector with high-quality headsets from the JBL brand. After all, it is a market that has been flourishing for years. The JBL Quantum Series, which is advertised as a gaming headset, is at the forefront of this, and it is now being expanded to include five new models.

JBL Quantum 360 Wireless, JBL Quantum 100M2, JBL Quantum 100N, JBL Quantum 50N and JBL Quantum 50C: these are the five models that Harman International is now offering, promising unbeatable sound on any platform.

JBL Quantum Series – the right model for every gamer

With the new models in the JBL Quantum Series, the specialist in personal audio devices is convinced that it can offer the right model for every gamer, and in this case it is even talking about solutions that not only offer unbeatable sound but also fashionable accents.

This means that all users should be able to find the model that is perfectly suited to them, tailored to their individual playing style and favourite game, the platform used, or even their personal preferences in terms of design.

3,5 mm jack, USB or wireless

While wireless solutions dominate the market for conventional headphones, wired products are still very popular with gamers. So it’s no surprise that of the five new models in the JBL Quantum Series, only the JBL Quantum 360 Wireless model uses dual source wireless and thus 2,4 GHz radio and Bluetooth 5.2, while the other models – JBL Quantum 100M2, JBL Quantum 100N and JBL Quantum 50N – are equipped with a 3,5 mm stereo mini-jack, and the JBL Quantum 50C comes with a USB-C adapter in addition to the 3,5 mm stereo mini-jack.

JBL Quantum 50N and Quantum 50C – The entry-level

The most affordable solutions in the JBL Quantum Series are the JBL Quantum 50N and Quantum 50C models, which are in-ear headphones that feature JBL Quantum Sound Signature on the JBL Quantum 50N and immersive JBL Quantum Surround and JBL Quantum Sound Signature via JBL Quantum Engine on the JBL Quantum 50C, according to the manufacturer. In fact, both models are equipped with 8.6-inch drivers.

Both models are equipped with an inline microphone for communicating with gaming partners. A volume slider and a mute switch are available for the microphone, while the JBL Qunatum 50C model also features a function button for controlling calls and music playback.

Both models feature JBL Twistlock technology for comfort and a secure fit, with silicone eartips in three sizes.

JBL Quantum 100N and JBL Quantum 100M2

The JBL Quantum 100N is designed as a wired over-ear gaming headset, based on a 40 mm driver with JBL Quantum Sound Signature. The headset features a detachable, voice-focused boom microphone that is designed to ensure clear communication at all times.

In principle, it is compatible with a variety of solutions with a 3,5 mm stereo mini-jack, be it a PC, a Sony PLAYSTATION, a Microsoft Xbox, a Nintendo Switch or another mobile device.

For a high level of comfort, the developers equipped this solution with memory foam pads.

The JBL Quantum 100M2 is also a wired over-ear gaming headset that relies on a 40 mm driver and, according to the manufacturer, features JBL Quantum Sound Sinature. The headset has a detachable boom microphone.

The JBL Quantum 100M2 is designed for full compatibility with the native surround sound system, which is used in the form of Microsoft Windows Sonic Spatial Sound in Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Xbox ONE, but can be used with a variety of systems via the 3,5 mm stereo mini-jack, from PCs to Sony PLAYSTATION, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Switch to other portable solutions.

A lightweight headband and memory foam cushions covered with breathable fabric are designed to provide a high level of comfort.

JBL Quantum 360 Wireless

As already mentioned, the JBL Quantum 360 Wireless is the only new model in the JBL Quantum Series that dispenses with a cable, relying instead on 2,4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2.

The JBL Quantum 360 Wireless is designed as a wireless over-ear gaming headset with surround sound, with a 40 mm driver for JBL Quantum Sound Signature and JBL Quantum Surround Sound Signature at its core.

The so-called JBL QuantumENGINE PC software is designed to activate a wide range of headphone functions, such as RGB LED lighting, but above all to fine-tune the sound.

The JBL Quantum 360 Wireless can be connected to a PC using a 2,4 GHz dongle to take full advantage of all the features, but, as mentioned, Bluetooth 5.2 is also available, which is particularly relevant for use with smartphones and tablets. Incidentally, you can also use the JBL Headphone App for Apple iOS and Google Android.

The JBL Quantum 360 Wireless is also compatible with all Sony PLAYSTATION models, including Sony PLAYSTATION 5 3D audio. Use with Nintendo Switch is also possible, although wireless use is only supported when the device is docked, as the small print in the data sheet reveals.

Use in home office or home schooling

With regard to use on the PC, it should also be noted that the JBL Quantum 360 Wireless can also be helpful away from games, as it is Zoom-certified and can also be used with other video conferencing solutions and instant messaging services.

Prices and availability

The new models in the JBL Quantum Series should all be available in stores soon. The JBL Quantum 50N will be available in blue and red, reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch. This solution will cost € 29,99.
