JBL PartyBox Encore – Compact Party Speaker

Clearly, the JBL PartyBox Series is designed for partying whenever and wherever you want, as is the new JBL PartyBox Encore, which Harman International Industries will debut at CES 2022 in Las Vegas.

JBL PartyBox Encore, with this Harman International Industries wants to offer a solution that should serve as the musical background to any party, wherever the opportunity arises. Once again, the focus is on a portable Bluetooth speaker that not only offers rich sound in a compact form, but also comes with integrated LED lighting.

Fantastic sound and an impressive light show are the features that distinguish the new JBL PartyBox Encore, says the company about this solution of the JBL PartyBox Series, which was presented for the first time at the CES 2022 in Las Vegas these days.

JBL PartyBox Encore – New addition to the JBL PartyBox Series

Harman International Industries already offers a variety of such solutions under the JBL brand, ranging from comparatively small to really powerful systems that can no longer be classified in the classic category of Bluetooth speakers, but rather in that of so-called high-energy speakers.

The new JBL PartyBox Encore, however, is more like a normal Bluetooth speaker, so it is clearly designed as a mobile solution.

The manufacturer itself speaks of a portable design, so they are well aware of the fact that this is also a comparatively large solution if you consider it purely as a Bluetooth speaker.

At least this solution is designed in such a way that it can be transported by means of a rubberised carrying handle and can therefore not only be used at one’s own garden party, barbecue party in one’s own garden or on one’s own terrace, but also at a party at friends’, at a picnic in the countryside, or even at the swimming pond.

Of course, the solution is designed to be particularly robust and protected against splashing water according to IPX4.

JBL PartyBox Encore with JBL Original Pro Sound

The new JBL PartyBox Encore is supposed to come up with JBL Original Pro Sound, that’s how the manufacturer describes the performance of this system, whereby they deliberately try to establish a connection to the Pro Audio solutions of the brand.

After all, 100 watts of output power is specified in the data sheet, so it is safe to assume that this solution can provide adequate sound at least for smaller parties.

Signal transmission via Bluetooth 5.1

Of course, smartphones are the most likely source devices for such solutions, and in this case, Bluetooth 5.1 can be used for signal transmission. Using the JBL True Wireless Stereo function, two JBL PartyBox Encore can be connected to form a stereo pair, whereby other compatible solutions can also be connected.

As an alternative to Bluetooth, the new JBL PartyBox Encore also offers a USB port for direct connection to a notebook, for example, and an AUX input is also available for analogue sources.

It is also interesting that a wireless microphone is included in the scope of delivery, which, by the way, is powered by AA batteries. This can be used for announcements at a party, but the focus will probably be on the karaoke function of the JBL PartyBox Encore.

Lighting effects included

To get the party going, the integrated LED effect lighting of the new JBL PartyBox Encore can be used. This supports various modes, from simple rhythmic accompaniment of the music to stroboscopic effects. The manufacturer calls this function in this generation JBL PartyBox Lightshow+.

Battery life of up to ten hours

To ensure that a party does not have to end too early, the new JBL PartyBox Encore has a long battery life. The fun is supposed to last up to ten hours, but of course it can also be operated directly from the mains, so that the music performance never ends…

All functions of the JBL PartyBox Encore are controlled via a suitable app, the JBL PartyBox app, which the manufacturer offers for Apple iOS and Google Android. However, all relevant functions can of course also be controlled directly on the device itself, which is why there is a control panel on the top of the JBL PartyBox Encore.

Prices and availability

According to the information currently available, you will have to be a little patient for the new JBL PartyBox Encore, because it will probably come onto the market in time for the 2022 summer season. It will then be available in specialist shops at a recommended retail price of € 349.

Getting to the point

The so-called JBL PartyBox Series of the JBL brand is already very well positioned, but with the new JBL PartyBox Encore, which was presented for the first time at the CES 2022, this product series is nevertheless extended by a solution that the manufacturer Harman International Industries itself calls a transportable, if not mobile solution.
