Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7

Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7 are two new CD players from the French hi-fi manufacturer Advance Paris, proving that this product group is far from obsolete. The company is convinced that with these two new drives, it will be able to inspire even the most demanding hi-fi enthusiasts, relying on reliable drives with low noise development, an audiophile design, extensive connection options and, last but not least, excellent D/A conversion, according to the company’s promise.

Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7 – Designed for CD lovers

Even though streaming dominates the market, there are still many CD lovers who are looking for an adequate playback option for their beloved treasures. This is the reason why Advance Paris has launched two new CD players, the Advance Paris X-CD9 and the Advance Paris X-CD7.

Designed for high demands

As already mentioned in the introduction, the two new solutions Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7 are said to be characterised by particularly reliable and low-noise drives. The careful construction according to audiophile criteria is also mentioned. According to the French specialist, it is essential that the Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7 are equipped with a solid power supply, which is referred to as a high-performance power supply. A high-quality toroidal transformer is used here.

Another important aspect is, of course, the D/A converter, whereby the manufacturer speaks of an excellent DAC, but does not provide any further information in this regard. However, the data sheet states that it supports oversampling, namely 24-bit 96 kHz or 24-bit 192 kHz.

Analogue audio signals are optionally output via a pair of unbalanced RCA sockets or a pair of balanced XLR connectors, but digital interfaces are also available as an alternative, namely in the form of an optical and a coaxial S/PDIF interface.

A special feature of the Advance Paris X-CD9 is that it uses a tube-based preamplifier. According to Advance Paris, this is to achieve a particularly harmonious, multi-layered sound.

Compact and elegant solutions

Both the Advance Paris X-CD9 and the Advance Paris X-CD7 present themselves as particularly compact solutions, which are of course completely in the design line of the Advance Paris Classic Series. A solid black metal housing is just as much a matter of course as a high-gloss black front, on which the aluminium standby button in silver provides an attractive contrast.

The drives are arranged centrally, with a numerical display below them. To the right of this, the Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7 have buttons for playback control, while the Advance Paris X-CD9 also has a viewing window for the tubes already mentioned.

Prices and availability

The new Advance Paris X-CD9 and Advance Paris X-CD7 turntables are available immediately from specialist dealers. The manufacturer gives a recommended retail price of € 790 for the Advance Paris X-CD9 and € 590 for the Advance Paris X-CD7.
