Sony WH-1000XM5 in new Midnight Blue design variant
Back in 2022, Sony Corporation launched the Sony WH-1000XM5, one of the most exciting over-ear headphones on the market. Now they offer them in a new design variant, namely Midnight Blue.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 was supposed to be a headphone that would set new standards. Sony Corporation presented it with such conviction a good year ago as a new solution in the field of True Wireless Headphones. The Sony WH-1000XM5 was supposed to continue the extremely successful Sony 1000X Series and thus succeed the Sony WH-1000XM4.
Of course, of all the technologies in these over-ear headphones, the company once again focused on active noise cancellation, which is supposed to work particularly accurately here and thus guarantee the best sound quality free of external interference in any environment.
Outstanding sound experience through industry-leading active noise cancellation
Apart from the fact that the Sony WH-1000XM5 features a specially developed 30 mm driver, signal processing that extends to the reproduction of Sony 360 Reality Audio, signals are also transmitted via Bluetooth in high-resolution quality, it is once again the Active Noise Cancellation that is supposed to ensure outstanding sound experiences, Sony Corporation is convinced of this.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 is said to be characterised by flexibility in use and a high level of operating comfort, as well as a long battery life that allows it to be used for several days without having to stop at the power socket.
New design variant Midnight Blue
Until now, Sony Corporation has only offered the Sony WH-1000XM5 in black and silver, but now a more casual design variant, Midnight Blue, follows.
Prices and availability
The new Sony WH-1000XM5 is, of course, already available in specialist shops at the recommended retail price of € 419,-. This applies not only to the black and silver versions, but also to the new third version in Midnight Blue.
Getting to the point
It is a little surprising that Sony Corporation has so far offered the Sony WH-1000XM5 only in black and silver, even though this is clearly the flagship of the Japanese consumer electronics company, which naturally appeals to a somewhat better-off clientele that appreciates restrained design. Now, however, another variant has been added, namely Midnight Blue, which is not exactly stylish and hip, but at least brings a little more colour into play.
