- According to Ortofon A/S, the new Ortofon 2M Premount Series is the ideal solution for vinyl lovers and facilitates experimentation.
With the Ortofon 2M Premount Series, the Danish specialist for pick-up systems Ortofon A/S wants to make experimenting particularly easy for vinyl lovers, as they state on record. This means that pick-up systems are available that are particularly easy to assemble, as only a few manual operations are required.
Like the Ortofon 2M Series itself, the Ortofon 2M Premount Series is of course particularly wide-ranging, comprising seven models.
A practical, yet elegant solution
The systems of the Ortofon 2M Premount Series are designed for turntables on which an S-shaped tonearm with universal mounting device is used. The cartridge systems of the Ortofon 2M Premount Series can be mounted on this arm with just one movement, using an Ortofon H-4 Black headshell on which the cartridge systems are directly mounted.
The cartridge systems are supposed to be mounted exactly in such a way that a correct Baerwald alignment on the tonearm with Universal Mount is guaranteed, so that the customer essentially only has to set the correct tracking force.
Seven cartridge systems available
The Ortofon 2M Series is clearly one of the most popular product lines of the manufacturer, because it presents itself on the one hand immensely broadly positioned, currently includes no less than seven products, which also all come up with a very good price-performance ratio, even the special sites, which this product line also has ready.
It should be mentioned that all models of the Ortofon 2M Series and therefore all solutions of the Ortofon 2M Premount Series are MM cartridge systems.
The first model is the Ortofon 2M Red Premount followed by the Ortofon 2M Blue Premount, Ortofon 2M Bronze Premount and Ortofon 2M Black Premount. The top model of the product series is the Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 Premount, an exclusive system with Nude Shabata Diamond on a Boron needle carrier.
Of course, one must also list the two specialists of the series, namely the models Ortofon 2M 78 Premount for the playback of Shellac Records as well as the Ortofon 2M Mono Premount, which is especially designed for the playback of records in mono.
