Lyngdorf HDMI 2.1 Upgrade for Lyngdorf MP-40 and other solutions

Lyngdorf Audio is currently upgrading its AV solutions, with HDMI 2.1 upgrades gradually becoming available for various solutions, currently for the Lyngdorf MP-40, but also for the Steinway & Sons P100 and Steinway & Sons Head Unit systems.

Lyngdorf HDMI 2.1 Upgrade, with this the company Lyngdorf Audio offers existing customers the possibility to bring their products up to date, an option that seems downright exotic in times of ever shorter product cycles, and is therefore all the more pleasing.

After all, the user is in the fortunate position of having acquired solutions that retain their value and can be used over a long service life without compromising on functionality.

Only recently, Lyngdorf Audio presented the Lyngdorf HDMI 2.1 upgrade for the flagship model Lyngdorf MP-60 2.1, as well as for the Steinway & Sons P300 2.1 system, which has been available since February 2021. Now further upgrade options follow, once again equally for a product of the Lyngdorf Audio brand itself, but also Steinway & Sons.

The second Lyngdorf HDMI 2.1 roll-out includes the Lyngdorf MP-40, the Steinway & Sons P100 and the Steinway & Sons Head Unit. Steinway Lyngdorf announces that work on the 8K-compatible HDMI 2.1 boards will begin in the second half of 2021.

The company cites the following features as key innovations:

  • 8K 50/60Hz, 40 Gbps and 4K 100/120Hz, 18 Gpbs as described in the HDMI 2.1 specification.
  • Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC)
  • Support for Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) modes
  • Support for static and dynamic HDR for extended dynamic range and wide colour gamut
  • HDCP 2.3 protection for premium content

Getting to the point

One of the main differences that distinguishes true high-end from other solutions is the possibility to bring products up to date with the help of upgrades and thus ensure value stability and a long service life. This is exactly the strategy that Lyngdorf Audio is pursuing with the gradually available Lyngdorf HDMI 2.1 Upgrade.
