Lyngdorf Audio – Software version 5.1.0 for multichannel processors

SL Audio A/S is delighted to announce the release of the latest software update, software version 5.1.0, for all Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf branded multichannel processors. This update marks a significant step forward in the company's endeavour to deliver exceptional audio experiences, the company promises.

Story Highlights
  • A new update to software version 5.10 is now available for all Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf multichannel processors.

SL Audio A/S is now announcing an update for the Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf and Steinway & Sons multi-channel processors that brings with it some quite remarkable innovations. This is said to be software version 5.1.0, which can be downloaded immediately for all compatible solutions.

The manufacturer itself speaks of an update that offers a significant step forward in SL Audio A/S’s endeavour to provide exceptional audio experiences.

10 becomes 12 – Steinway & Sons P100 can now decode 12 channels

One of the most notable features of the new software version 5.1.0 concerns the Steinway & Sons P100, which now supports 12-channel decoding instead of the original native 10-channel decoding. This reflects the continuing trend towards more channels for immersive 3D surround sound and offers the user a more comprehensive, more intense sound experience.

Support for Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers

As is well known, Dolby Laboratories Inc. has planned so-called Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers for the immersive 3D surround sound format Dolby Atmos. This is a basis for immersive 3D surround sound that can be easily integrated into any room, because instead of additional speakers on the ceiling, specially designed speakers are placed on the front or surround speakers, which radiate upwards and thus enable sound events above the listener via ceiling reflections.

According to SL Audio A/S, the previous XXL limitation has been lifted for this type of speaker system and the cut-off frequency is now set to 180 Hz throughout. This ensures a seamless and dynamic reproduction, according to the manufacturer.

Various other improvements

The software version 5.1.0 is also intended to eliminate any errors that may have occurred in rare cases in connection with HDCP, and problems with the simultaneous use of TVs and projectors are also said to have been resolved. For the Lyngdorf MP-60 2.1 and Steinway & Sons P300 2.1 models, the handling of the so-called HDMI EDID interface is also said to have been simplified.

Prices and availability

The new software version 5.1.0 is now available free of charge for the corresponding Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf multichannel processors.

Getting to the point

SL Audio A/S is particularly proud to announce that the new software version 5.1.0 for Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf multichannel processors once again demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing users with a perfect audio experience. Even when it comes to solutions that have been on the market for some time. The latest update to software version 5.1.0 brings extended channel support, updates relating to Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers and improvements to HDCP.
