IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub – Optimally decoupled subwoofers

IsoAcoustics Inc. is now expanding its product range with a solution specifically designed for the optimal decoupling of subwoofers, the new IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub. This follows concepts that have already proven themselves in conventional loudspeaker systems.

IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub, the Canadian specialist IsoAcoustics Inc. introduces a decoupling solution that, as the name suggests, is specially designed for subwoofers.

The aim is to create an optimal basis even for heavy bass behemoths and thus guarantee accurate reproduction.

The latest addition to the IsoAcoustics Aperta Series

The IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub is the latest addition to the IsoAcoustics Aperta Series, a range that has already caused quite a stir.

The Canadian specialist has succeeded in realising an effective decoupling with a system that is very slim and compact, so that it can not only be used in a professional environment, but can also be harmoniously integrated into a living space.

This is an extremely important aspect, because it could also appeal to users who would hardly be won over to the topic of optimal decoupling with products that are not so elegantly designed.

IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub with advanced decoupling technology

The IsoAcoustics Aperta Series solutions to date have all been designed for conventional loudspeaker systems, although there are also products that can cope with quite powerful solutions.

In this respect, it is only natural to develop a suitable system for subwoofers, which is now available with the new IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub.

Of course, the same technologies are used as in the systems available up to now, but in a form optimised for the specific application.

Timelessly elegant, slim design

All solutions, including the new IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub, are characterised by a very simple, yet elegant, slim design, as we have already mentioned.

The footprint of the IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub is 265 x 290 mm, the height is 33 mm. Nevertheless, this system is capable of supporting subwoofers weighing up to 36.3 kg.

Four IsoAcoustics decouplers, each tailored to bass frequencies, are mounted on the top and bottom of its specially designed aluminium frame. The innovative arrangement of the isolation elements avoids unwanted interactions with the subwoofers’ feet.

Effective energy management

In principle, decoupling is achieved by not transferring energy into the subfloor, but rather by “dissipating” it through the IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub thanks to special design features.

In this particular case, the special placement of the isolators was specifically matched to the vibration maximum of the front, rear or side radiating bass drivers. This should ensure the best possible transmission of bass frequencies to the ambient air while minimising the cabinet’s natural resonances.

Another important point is that the design is very low and thus prevents the so-called down-fire subwoofers from being impaired in their mode of operation.

Carpet as a special case

Special attention was paid to carpets, because what is the ideal solution for some people’s living rooms could make the decoupler less effective.

For this reason, the IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub is delivered with special discs that are to be used when placed on a carpet. Specially developed spikes are used to anchor the subwoofer in the carpet and thus ensure an optimal effect.

The new IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub should be available in specialist shops within the next few days. The recommended retail price is € 189.99 from the distributor cma audio GmbH.

Getting to the point

Aperta stands for “open” and refers to the simple elegance that characterises the IsoAcoustics Aperta series and thus also the new IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub. But open can also be seen in this context for the sound, because an optimal decoupling makes the sound more precise and open. And it is precisely this optimal decoupling that the IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub is now also intended to ensure for subwoofers.
