Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless In-ear Headphones - Superior sound in a compact design

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 are the next generation of true wireless in-ear headphones with superior sound and compact design, says Technics about the solution, which is available now.

Story Highlights
  • After the two solutions Technics EAH-AZ80 and Technics EAH-AZ60M2, the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 complete the line-up of True Wireless in-ear headphones from Technics.

Technics calls the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless Headphones, whereby they speak of compact and, above all, lightweight earphones that, in addition to the aforementioned handy design, are supposed to distinguish themselves first and foremost by their outstanding sound. The Technics EAH-AZ40M2 are the third current product in the range, because with the Technics EAH-AZ80 and Technics EAH-AZ60M2 solutions, two further True Wireless earphones were presented just recently.

Just like its bigger siblings, the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 is also supposed to feature active noise cancellation and the latest Bluetooth standard including Bluetooth Multipoint Connection. The trio forms the current line-up of Technics True Wireless earphones.

Equipped for all purposes

Technics solutions in the field of headphones are all characterised by the fact that they are particularly elegant products aimed at a clientele that wants headphones that can be used for as many purposes as possible. This of course also applies to the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless In-ear Headphones, which the manufacturer recommends for relaxing at home, at work and when travelling, due to their excellent sound with additional active noise cancellation, high comfort and flexibility through Bluetooth Multipoint Connection.

Best sound up to Hi-res Audio

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless In-ear Headphones once again incorporate all the experience gained from 55 years of development, according to the manufacturer’s promise. For example, they use a 6 mm driver, which is supposed to be characterised by a particularly clear performance. Despite its already mentioned particularly compact design, this solution features a so-called acoustic control chamber, which optimises the airflow and thus provides a powerful bass and a harmoniser to smooth the treble. The result, he says, is dynamic reproduction with rich, involving and wide-ranging sound.

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless In-ear Headphones are even capable of transmitting signals in hi-res audio, as they rely on Bluetooth, which among other things also supports the codec LDAC.

Active Noise Cancellation for Music Enjoyment and Beamforming Technology for Optimal Voice Quality

In order to enjoy fine sound undisturbed by external influences at all times, the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 are equipped with Active Noise Cancelling, once again using a particularly sophisticated technology.

According to the manufacturer, a digital software filter and a feed-forward microphone effectively suppress external noise. Technics also attaches great importance to optimally fitting earphones and therefore offers earpieces in four different sizes to provide the perfect fit.

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 is also supposed to offer the best quality when making phone calls or video calls and therefore relies on two MEMS microphones to actively isolate the voice and reduce ambient noise with beamforming technology. In total, there are four microphones – two per ear – in the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 to ensure clear conversations at all times.

Ambient Aware Mode – natural environment or attention

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 is said to feature unique ambient noise modes, namely Natural Environment or Attention mode.

Natural Environment mode captures all ambient noise so that you can listen to music or make phone calls while paying attention to your surroundings, whereas Attention mode captures noise in the frequency range of the human voice and ensures that you can hear nearby human voices, such as airport announcements or a family member’s voice at home, while reducing other, unwanted external noise.

Bluetooth multipoint connection and convenient control

These in-ear headphones can be connected to three devices simultaneously, such as a smartphone, tablet and notebook. You can switch seamlessly between these three sources.

Another particularly exciting feature is that the Technics EAH-AZ40M2 offer so-called single-bud operation, which is very interesting for phone calls, for example. For optimal operation, a touch sensor panel on the outside is available, whereby this can be very flexibly adapted to individual needs by means of the Technics Audio Connect App for Apple iOS and Google Android.

It should be mentioned that the app can be used to adjust the sound mode settings, offers a Super Bass Equalizer, and of course also serves to configure voice assistants and other functions.

High wearing comfort and robust design

Technics repeatedly emphasises that the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 are the lightest and most compact in-ear headphones in the range, which means that they are particularly comfortable to wear. In addition, there are the four ear tips already mentioned in the scope of delivery for individual adjustment.

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 are resistant to splash water, so they can be used in bad weather without any problems and are therefore also suitable for sports.

The rechargeable battery lasts up to seven hours without active noise cancellation, and 5.5 hours with active noise cancellation. The transport case with power bank provides a total of 24 hours or 18 hours away from a power socket.

The new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless In-ear Headphones are to be available immediately from specialist dealers in the colours black, silver and rose gold, according to the manufacturer. The recommended retail price is € 149,-.

The flexible use of the new Technics EAH-AZ40M2 True Wireless In-ear Headphones, not least due to the impeccable voice quality during telephone calls and video calls, as well as Bluetooth Multipoint Connection, are also said to be arguments in favour of the new headphones.
