According to Yamaha Music Europe GmbH, the new Yamaha TT-S303 turntable is a record player reduced to the essentials with an elegant design.

The new record player from Yamaha Music Europe GmbH, the Yamaha TT-S303 Turntable, is designed to be entirely in keeping with the Yamaha brand’s long-standing tradition in the HiFi sector, with an elegant design, but ultimately focussing on the essentials, namely the impeccable reproduction of music from vinyl records.

Yamaha Music Europe GmbH is therefore talking about the new Yamaha TT-S303 turntable record player as a solution that delivers true sound at a particularly attractive price, making it the perfect solution especially for beginners.

Decades of tradition

Admittedly, record players have not played a major role at the consumer electronics company Yamaha Corporation in recent years, but overall it is fair to say that the Japanese company can point to outstanding and diverse record players in its many decades of history.

As we have already mentioned, the new Yamaha TT-S303 turntable is characterised in particular by its focus on the essentials, and that is a fine sound.

To achieve this, the company has opted for a solidly constructed chassis, which sits enthroned on damped feet and thus provides the optimum basis for playback free from disturbing external influences.

The platter of the new Yamaha TT-S303 turntable is made of die-cast aluminium and a rubber mat is also used as a base for the record. The turntable is driven by a belt drive and the speed can be selected between 33 and 45 revolutions per minute using a button.

Pre-mounted cartridge, integrated phono preamp

The tonearm of the Yamaha TT-S303 turntable is equipped with an exchangeable SME-compatible headshell, which makes it easier to replace the cartridge system if necessary. In this case, however, a cartridge system is already fitted ex works, namely an Audio-Technica ATN3600L MM cartridge from the specialist Audio-Technica Ltd.

To ensure that the turntable can be used immediately, it has an integrated phono preamp. This means that the Yamaha TT-S303 turntable can be connected directly to any audio system via a Line In, but the integrated phono preamp can also be deactivated if you prefer to use a high-quality external model.

The new Yamaha TT-S303 turntable measures 450 x 136 x 368 mm and weighs 4,8 kg. These dimensions and the weight mentioned include the dust cover included in the scope of delivery.

Prices and availability

The new Yamaha TT-S303 turntable will be available immediately in high-gloss black. The manufacturer quotes a recommended retail price of € 499,- for this turntable.
