PS Audio StellarGold Preamplifier – The perfect interface for high-end hi-fi chains
With the new PS Audio StellarGold Preamplifier, every effort has been made to guarantee the perfect central interface even for high-end hi-fi chains and therefore music enthusiasts with the highest demands.
This is particularly important because a preamplifier is the de facto backbone of a high-quality audio system, as it has to fulfil central tasks such as input selection, volume control and balance. It is obvious that the quality of the preamplifier is decisive for the quality of the entire chain.
The PS Audio StellarGold Preamplifier has two discrete amplifier stages, both of which offer an extremely high slew rate, a high bandwidth and low-distortion signal processing, PS Audio promises.
Based on a combination of JFET and BJT components as well as hand-selected, purist components, the signal is transmitted without interfering capacitors in the signal path.
Each amplification stage is based on a design with minimal global feedback, which achieves its low-distortion signal processing by relying on a high-current design, i.e. Class A.
Incidentally, a deliberately oversized power supply is a decisive factor in this.
Analogue design alone
It is worth noting that the new PS Audio StellarGold preamplifier relies solely on analogue signal processing. In addition to two pairs of inputs designed as RCA sockets, there are also two inputs in the form of XLR connections.
The outputs can also be set to either RCA or XLR, i.e. unbalanced or balanced, with two outputs available for each type.
Not to be forgotten are two 12 V triggers and two so-called PS Links, which ensure centralised control of several PS Audio components.
The new PS Audio StellarGold preamplifier measures 43,18 x 8,38 x 33,02 cm and weighs in at 10,9 kg. The solid housing is available in either silver or black.
