CD drive from StreamUnlimited, converter from AKM
At the heart of the Gold Note CD-10 is a particularly precise CD mechanism that is optimised for maximum performance and therefore solely for the playback of audio CDs. The company relies on a solution from Austria, namely the specialist StreamUnlimited Engineering GmbH.
The signal is converted using AKM AK4493 converters from the specialist Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation.
The converter is also available for external sources, which can be integrated via an optical and coaxial S/PDIF interface.
Unbalanced or balanced
Analogue signals are output from the new Gold Note CD-10 High Performance CD Player either via a pair of unbalanced RCA sockets or a pair of balanced XLR sockets. Alternatively, digital interfaces are also available as outputs, once again in the form of optical and coaxial S/PDIF interfaces.
Simple control via touchscreen display
The new Gold Note CD-10 High Performance CD Player is equipped with a touchscreen display for particularly convenient control, and a rotary encoder is also available directly on the front, which, due to its compact dimensions, is largely taken up by the disc tray anyway. The scope of delivery also includes a suitable infrared remote control.
External power supply as an upgrade
As we have already mentioned, the developers at Gold Note see the Gold Note Series 10 solutions as outstanding HiFi components that are in no way inferior to their “big siblings”. For this reason, most solutions also include an upgrade for the power supply, as is the case with the new Gold Note CD-10 High Performance CD Player.
The integrated power supply unit can be replaced by the familiar Gold Note PSU-10 EVO power supply if required.
