McIntosh 75th Anniversary Edition Models – For the 75th birthday

McIntosh Laboratory Inc. was founded by Frank McIntosh in 1949, so the US High-end HiFi manufacturer will be celebrating a very special anniversary in 2024 – its 75th birthday. It goes without saying that there will be many a special product to mark this milestone anniversary, and the fact that there will be so many of them is particularly pleasing for fans of the brand.

At CES 2024, McIntosh Laboratory Inc. presented a first preview of what to expect on the occasion of the 75th anniversary in the form of the McIntosh 75th Anniversary Edition models.

75 years of “Audio Excellence”

The company has always been committed to a single goal, namely to offer “audio excellence”. With a great deal of pathos, the company states that perfect sound is the essence that defines the company’s existence.

The company endeavours to develop products that not only stand for exclusivity and the highest standards in terms of performance indicators, but are also an expression of the highest level of craftsmanship. According to the company, every product should express the uncompromising pursuit of perfection and the passion for the best sound.

The products that illustrate this in particular have now been selected to be presented as McIntosh 75th Anniversary Edition models.

These are not specially developed solutions for this anniversary, but rather series products that have been customised in terms of design.

McIntosh 75th Anniversary Edition Models – Special design with interesting accents

The McIntosh 75th Anniversary Edition models are available with a special marking consisting of a double anodised, laser-engraved plaque showing the company’s logo in a special 75th anniversary design on the top of the device. There is also a corresponding engraving on the typical McIntosh handles that refers to the 75th anniversary.

Above all, the new McIntosh MC2.1KW Monoblock Power Amplifier will of course be available as a 75th Anniversary Edition, at least as standard for 75 units per country, as the manufacturer states.

The McIntosh MC1.25KW 1-Channel Solid State Amplifier and the McIntosh C12000 2-Channel Solid State and Vacuum Tube Preamplifier can also be purchased in a special 75th Anniversary Edition, whereby the latter will also only be limited to 75 units per country.

The McIntosh MA12000 2-Channel Hybrid Integrated Amplifier and the McIntosh MCD12000 2-Channel SACD/CD Player round off the range of special design variants for the 75th anniversary of McIntosh Laboratory Inc.

In the special versions, the product names are McIntosh C12000-AN Anniversary Edition, McIntosh MC1.25KW-AN Anniversary Edition, McIntosh MA12000-AN Anniversary Edition and McIntosh MCD12000-AN Anniversary Edition.

Prices and availability

At present, we only have the prices that the US High-end hiFi manufacturer itself communicates. According to them, the McIntosh C12000-AN Anniversary Edition will cost US$ 18.000,-, the McIntosh MC1.25KW-AN Anniversary Edition US$ 14.500,- and the McIntosh MA12000-AN Anniversary Edition US$ 15.500,-. The McIntosh MCD12000-AN Anniversary Edition will be offered at a price of US$ 12.500,-.

Getting to the point

McIntosh Laboratory Inc. is now offering a variety of the finest HiFi components in a special edition to mark the company’s 75th anniversary. These are primarily amplifier systems, but also include an SACD/CD player, whereby the systems in the form of the McIntosh 75th Anniversary Models are identical to the respective regular series models from a purely technical point of view, but present themselves with particularly elegant design accents.
