Lyngdorf Cue-100 - High-end Audio Design Loudspeaker with Purifi Driver Technology

First and foremost, a particularly outstanding design, but also outstanding technology is supposed to distinguish the latest loudspeaker system of the Danish specialist SL Audio A/S of the Lyngdorf Audio brand, which it now presents with the new Lyngdorf Cue-100.

Story Highlights
  • SL Audio A/S describes the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 as a high-end design speaker system with the latest speaker technology.

It is a very special loudspeaker system that the Danish high-end HiFi and home cinema specialist SL Audio A/S is now presenting for the first time at ISE 2023 in Barcelona with the new Lyngdorf Cue-100. The extraordinary design of the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 is immediately noticeable, which is also said to be equipped with the latest technology and can be optimally adapted to the individual room at any time, especially in combination with electronics of the Lyngdorf Audio brand.

Loudspeaker Systems since 2005

The Lyngdorf Audio brand is often perceived primarily through its electronic solutions, be it in the stereo segment with amplifiers or AV processors in home cinema, but loudspeaker systems have also been an integral part of the company’s product portfolio since 2005, as is explicitly stated. Nevertheless, the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 is said to be a special milestone in the field of loudspeaker systems.

“Loudspeakers have been part of Lyngdorf Audio’s DNA since the introduction of the very first MH-1 and DP-1 models, and now it’s time for another chapter that fuses modern Danish design with outstanding Purifi technology and our acoustic expertise. The Cue-100 will set new standards in detail resolution and effortless music reproduction.”

Lyngdorf Cue-100 with Purifi Driver Technology

From a technical point of view, the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 is distinguished first and foremost by the fact that it uses the very latest innovations from the Danish specialist Purifi Audio. According to SL Audio A/S, Purifi Audio has earned an excellent reputation in the development of loudspeaker drivers, setting new standards especially with regard to distortion-free reproduction.

With various innovative technologies, Purifi Audio achieves the lowest distortion on the market and thus the highest sound purity. One of these technologies is Neutral Surround Geometry, in which the shape of the surround consists of alternating ridges.

In addition to the Purifi PTT6.5 midwoofer with Purifi Driver Technology, a Lyngdorf Air Motion Transformer is also used, so that all in all the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 achieves an outstanding sound purity and a detail resolution never heard before, SL Audio A/S is convinced.

Floorstanding loudspeaker system with outstanding design

Actually, the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 is strictly defined as a bookshelf speaker system, but since a very distinctive stand is part of the concept, it is ultimately a speaker system that can be placed free-standing in the room and that the manufacturer itself describes as a two-way floor-standing speaker system.

And it probably cuts an excellent figure in any room, because the developers have chosen a cabinet in satin black or satin white, which, viewed from above, has the shape of a triangle with rounded edges and is enthroned on a CNC-milled oak base with three legs.

Fabric covers from Gabriel A/S

To round off the elegant appearance and, if desired, to protect the speaker’s chassis, the designers of the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 relied on particularly high-quality textiles for an optional finishing touch, namely from Danish specialist Gabriel A/S. The special feature here is that it is not a simple loudspeaker grill that is simply mounted on the front, but actually a fabric cover that runs all the way around, with optimised acoustic properties and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.

Five variants are available here, namely Grey, Black, Petrol Blue, Dusty Green and Red.

Together with the different combinations of the cabinet in black or white and the base in black, white or oak as well as the different colours of the textile fabric, there are 24 different variations of the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 to choose the perfect solution for your own taste.

The new Lyngdorf Cue-100 measures 513 mm in height, 350 mm in width and 329 mm in depth without the stand. Including the stand, the dimensions are 1,196 mm in height, 597 mm in width and 520 mm in depth. Without the stand, the speaker weighs 13.8 kg; with the stand, it weighs 16.2 kg.

“We always want to offer our customers the best performance. We believe that the components used in this speaker are currently the best on the market, and we have developed a speaker with a design that we believe matches the performance of the speaker.”

Thomas Birkelund, CTO and CEO, SL Audio A/S

But it is not only the design of the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 that is supposed to be optimally adaptable to any room, but above all from a technical point of view, so that an optimal performance is always guaranteed.

Once again, Lyngdorf relies on RoomPerfect Technology, which is available in combination with the corresponding electronics of the Lyngdorf Audio brand.

“With the Cue-100, Lyngdorf Audio wants to make a statement in terms of sound performance. Since the company was founded 16 years ago, we have never built a loudspeaker in this league that sets new standards in design and technology. Our distributors have asked us time and time again to build a benchmark speaker, and now it’s here, Made in Denmark.”

Anker Haldan, CCO, SL Audio A/S

Technical key data of the Lyngdorf Cue-100

The new Lyngdorf Cue-100 is, as already mentioned, designed as a two-way system. Two additional woofers are also designed as passive radiators, each with a diameter of 18 cm.

For accurate imaging in the upper frequency range, the Lyngdorf Cue-100 features an Air Motion Transformer.

Designed for amplifiers with a power of 250 watts, a sensitivity of 83 dB and an impedance of 4 ohms, the new Lyngdorf Cue-100 can reproduce a frequency range between 35 Hz and 22 kHz, with the crossover starting at 2.3 kHz, according to the data sheet.
