KEF LSX II Olive Green - Wireless HiFi Speaker in a new design variant

KEF now offers the KEF LSX II Olive Green, another design variant of the compact wireless hi-fi speaker. With this desktop audio system, KEF is relying on a design variant that was already extremely popular with the first generation of this solution.

Story Highlights
  • The KEF LSX II Wireless HiFi System will soon be available in a new design variant as the KEF LSX II Olive Green.

The new KEF LSX II Olive Green is another special design variant of the KEF LSX II Wireless HiFi Speaker System. KEF, the English loudspeaker manufacturer, is expanding its range of systems with a particularly refined finish, described as the Soundwave by Terence Conran Editon, Carbon Black and Cobalt Blue.

As with the new KEF LSX Olive Green, these solutions use a specially designed fabric by Danish textile designer Kvadrat. This makes the latest version of the compact wireless hi-fi speaker a particularly elegant piece of jewellery.

KEF LSX II – Wireless HiFi Speaker

KEF refers to the KEF LSX II systems as WLAN HiFi speakers, which clearly indicates that the focus is on streaming. Music can therefore be transferred to this compact active speaker system quite simply “wirelessly” via WiFi using UPnP, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, but also Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect. In addition, the KEF LSX II are designated as Roon ready.

For extra convenience, the KEF Connect app provides direct access to other online services such as Qobuz, Deezer Internet Radio and podcasts. If you want to stream music directly from your smartphone or tablet, you can do so via Bluetooth.

Apart from streaming, the KEF LSX IIs also have an analogue input (3.5 mm stereo mini-jack) and digital inputs (optical S/PDIF, USB-C and HDMI) so that a wide range of sources, from record players to TV sets, can be connected directly and played back in the simplest possible way.

The KEF Music Integrity Engine and powerful Class D amplifier modules provide a total of 200 watts of KEF Uni-Q 11th generation drivers, which are coaxial drivers with a tweeter in the centre of a low-mid driver. A rear-firing bass reflex system also helps the KEF LSX IIs deliver a highly responsive sound image.

Five versions available so far

The compact active loudspeaker systems – each loudspeaker measures no more than 240 × 155 × 180 mm – are designed to integrate harmoniously into any living environment. KEF itself deliberately speaks of modern lifestyle solutions. It is therefore essential to offer the speaker systems in fashionable colours.

Five versions are already available, in a satin Mineral White and a high-gloss Lava Red finish, as well as Carbon Black, Cobald Blue and the special Soundwave by Terence Conran Edition.

The latter three versions, as mentioned earlier, feature a side covering in a fabric designed by Danish textile designer Kvadrat, and the same is true of the new KEF LSX II Olive Green. Here too, the special textile fabric is used, once again giving the compact wireless hi-fi speaker a particularly refined appearance.

Prices and availability

The new design variant of the KEF LSX II Wireless HiFi Speakers, the KEF LSX II Olive Green, is available to pre-order now, KEF announces, with a recommended retail price of € 1.499,- per system, as before.

Getting to the point

KEF LSX II Olive Green is the sixth design variant of the KEF LSX II Wireless HiFi Speaker system, a particularly compact WLAN active loudspeaker system. Once again, KEF relies on a fine textile fabric from Kvadral, which is not used here for a grill – the KEF LSX II doesn’t even offer such a thing – but rather as a fine finish for the cabinet.
