Harman Kardon Luna - New Bluetooth Speaker in the Premium Segment

Even though the new Harman Kardon Luna is a very compact Bluetooth speaker, Harman International Industries is convinced that it has qualities that place it in the premium segment.

Story Highlights
  • Der neue Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth-Lautsprecher von Harman International Industries soll sich als Lösung der Premiumklasse erweisen.

The new Harman Kardon Luna is said to be a compact Bluetooth speaker with dynamic, powerful sound, a solution that Harman International Industries would like to be understood as a product in the premium class. In return, the Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker not only boasts impeccable technical features, but also high-quality materials and an elegant design.

The new Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker has all the features that Harman Kardon products are known for.

Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker – Dynamic Sound

First and foremost, the sound quality is of course decisive, according to the manufacturer, who designed the new Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker as a compact two-way speaker system and relies on a 48 x 90 mm woofer driver and a 20 mm diameter tweeter, which are driven by an amplifier module with 25 watts plus 15 watts. In addition, there are two laterally arranged passive membranes that are supposed to extend the frequency range at the lower end. In total, the new Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker can reproduce a frequency range between 60 Hz and 20 kHz.

The Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker is therefore a mono system, which is actually the most serious approach in this class, especially since you can connect two speakers to a real stereo pair.

This is done via Bluetooth, as is the connection to the source device, whereby Bluetooth 5.3 is used. In addition to SBC, AAC is also supported as a Bluetooth codec, as are the Bluetooth profiles A2DP 1.3 and AVRCP 1.6.

It should be mentioned that with the Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker, you can pair two source devices at the same time, and thus alternately play music from one, then the other.

Elegant design with slim silhouette

The new Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker has a particularly elegant, slim design, measuring no more than 210 x 78 x 80 mm and thus weighing in at 1.13 kg, according to the product’s data sheet. A fabric-covered construction and an anodised aluminium top are used, which not only looks elegant, but also functions as a control panel.

It is important to mention that the Harman Kardon Luna is a Bluetooth speaker that can be used on the road without any problems, as it is designed to be IP67 waterproof and dustproof. Even a fall into the pool cannot harm it, let alone rain showers or other outdoor adversities.

Playing time of up to twelve hours

The integrated lithium-polymer battery with 17.28 Wh (3.6 V 4,800 mAh) is supposed to provide a playing time of up to twelve hours, so that you can easily take the Harman Kardon Luna with you on trips without a power supply unit, especially since charging is easily done via USB-C anyway. The matching cable is included in the delivery.

Prices and availability

The new Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker is expected to be available in stores in mid-September 2023, with a choice of black or grey. The recommended retail price is listed at € 179,99.

Getting to the point

The new Harman Kardon Luna Bluetooth Speaker should prove to be a mobile solution in the premium segment of its class, even if it is a particularly compact product. Once again, Harman International Industries promises fine sound paired with elegant design and high-quality materials in this Harman Kardon brand solution.
