We were able to get our first impressions of the D’Agostino Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier back in winter 2022 when we were invited by Mansour Mamaghani, Managing Director of Audio Reference GmbH, to visit D’Agostino Master Audio Systems LLC. in the USA, but that’s just a side note.
D’Agostino Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier – Two become one…
Admittedly, when we talk about a particularly compact form, this should of course be seen in relative terms, as we are dealing with a solution that is not at all restrained at 46.4 x 24.1 x 45.2 cm and thus weighs an impressive 50.8 kg. And even if we are dealing with a system that ultimately consists of two components – more on this in a moment – the D’Agostino Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier is of course much more compact than the combination consisting of the D’Agostino Momentum HD Preamplifier and the matching power amplifier, for example in the form of the D’Agostino Momentum S250 MxV Amplifier.

Modular design – optional phono module and digital streaming module
It is particularly emphasised that the new D’Agostino Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier is a modular design, starting, as already indicated, with a power supply unit that has been relocated to a second housing.
A special audio chassis and a separate power supply unit are used, whereby these two are connected by a special mechanism and a gold-plated 30 amp plug is used to avoid the usual external cabling. This achieves particularly good shielding, but at the same time avoids the additional expense normally associated with external power supply units.
The D’Agostino Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier is based on an extremely quiet 2,000 VA linear transformer and a capacitor bank with 60,000ⲙF, so that an output power of twice 250 watts into 8 ohms, twice 500 watts into 4 ohms and even twice 1,000 watts into 2 ohms can be achieved, as D’Agostino Master Audio Systems LLC. states. Optional phono preamplifier, optional digital streaming module with DAC

The digital extension offers connection options for a wide variety of sources, in addition to a USB-A port for direct connection to a PC or Mac, S/PDIF coaxial and S/PDIF optical are available here, and the system can be integrated into the network via an RJ45 Ethernet interface as well as via WiFi, so that streaming is also possible. A special D’Agostino DSM app for Apple iOS provides access to TIDAL, Qobuz and other services. The signal processing allows data in Linear PCM with up to 24 bit and 192 kHz as well as DSD up to DSD256 and content encoded in lossy MQA is also supported.
The optional phono module is designed for drives equipped with MC cartridge systems, with a gain of 60 dB and a choice of input resistance between 100 Ohm and 47 kOhm.
The D’Agostino Momentum MxV Integrated Amplifier comes from the factory with three balanced XLR inputs and one unbalanced input with RCA sockets. There is also a pre-out with XLR sockets, a headphone connection directly on the front and an RS232 interface.
Solid, gold-plated screw terminals are provided for connecting the speaker systems.
