BluOS 4.0 Mobile Application Update at ISE 2023 in Barcelona

A spectacular redesign of the user interface as part of the update to BluOS 4.0 gives the BluOS app a new quality, Lenbrook International now promises for its streaming platform, the latest generation of which will be presented for the first time in Barcelona at ISE 2023.

Story Highlights
  • First and foremost, the new BluOS 4.0, which Lenbrook International will present at ISE 2023 in Barcelona, will feature a completely redesigned user interface.

For more than a decade, BluOS has positioned itself as the industry’s leading multi-room hi-res music streaming platform, according to the Canadian company Lenbrook International, under whose umbrella, in addition to the software company BluOS, there are three other companies, NAD Electronics, Bluesound and Bluesound Professional, which also rely on the BluOS platform, along with partners such as Dali Speaker A/S, Monitor Audio Ltd, Roksan Audio Ltd and Peachtree Audio. The updated version BluOS 4.0, which Lenbrook International is now announcing, is expected to bring a number of improvements to the BluOS App, such as a clearer layout, easier access to menu navigation and customisation options to suit individual listening needs.

BluOS – Best Proven Streaming Platform

Lenbrook International can rightly speak of an industry-leading solution that has stood the test of time. The solution of the same name, driven by the software forge BluOS, has long represented an entire ecosystem that can offer a wide range of products from all-in-one systems to streaming clients, stereo integrated amplifiers, soundbar systems, active loudspeaker systems and installation solutions in the custom installation segment.

BluOS functions as a premium multi-room hi-res music streaming platform that serves for the playback and management of own audio data or content in the cloud and supports hi-res audio up to 24 bit and 192 kHz in all relevant formats and also MQA.

A special feature of BluOS is that it has long been a cross-manufacturer solution, because as already mentioned, not only Lenbrook International brands such as Bluesound, Bluesound Professional and NAD Electronics rely on BluOS, but also partners such as Dali Speaker A/S, Monitor Audio Ltd, Roksan Audio Ltd and Peachtree Audio Ltd.

For central control, the appropriate apps are of course available, the BluOS Controller Apps, which are offered for Apple iOS, Google Android, Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS.

BluOS 4.0 Mobile Application Update for even more comfortable use

The BluOS 4.0 Mobile Application Update, which has now been announced by Lenbrook International, focuses on even easier use and thus even greater convenience.

New Home Screen Display

First and foremost, the company is introducing a completely redesigned home screen display, which is intended to serve as an even more flexible starting point for using one’s own media library as well as online content from various services. A slim, tile-based layout now allows easy access to the most frequently played music titles, the most recently played titles, the favourite services, playlists and much more.

Improved navigation

By moving the navigation bar to the bottom of the screen, users can reach the menu more easily and access the most important functions of the BluOS app with a tap of their finger: Home, Favourites, Music, Player and Search.

Search conveniently from anywhere

A globally accessible search function will enhance the existing search function by providing a default selection of music services based on the user’s listening behaviour, making it much easier for users to navigate to the content they are looking for. For example, if a user has set up only one music service, the search function will default to that service. If he or she has set up more than one, the search function will be set to the last service visited.

Simplified access to essential functions

Access to essential functions with a single button press improves the practical use of the app and enhances usability in areas such as music management, adding or removing favourites and accessing the Player Drawer and Play Queue, Lenbrook International promises.

Music management is now even simpler, with a “+” button in the top right-hand corner of the browsing view that allows users to add music services and switch between streaming services more quickly. It is also now even easier to create and manage favourites.

Even the selection of the current player has been made easier with BluOS 4.0, especially with regard to intuitive playback control on different systems.

“BluOS 4.0 brings more depth to personalised multi-room hi-res listening. The comprehensive redesign of the mobile app interface reflects our commitment to providing BluOS users with a seamless user experience.”

Andrew Haines, BluOS Product Manager

Getting to the point

It is said to be a major update that Lenbrook International is now announcing in the context of ISE 2023 around the BluOS streaming platform of its eponymous software forge.
