Takumi Turntables Enter Germany with Drei H Distribution

Hamburg’s Drei H Vertriebs GmbH has taken over distribution of the Dutch brand Takumi, known for its precision-engineered turntables and phono cartridges. Dealers in Germany and Austria now have a dedicated partner for the brand, which combines artisanal craftsmanship with modern audio engineering.

Story Highlights
  • Takumi turntables and cartridges from the Netherlands are now represented in Germany and Austria by Hamburg-based distributor Drei H Vertriebs GmbH.

Drei H Vertriebs GmbH, a company long recognised as a leading distributor for digital audio and streaming solutions, is extending its portfolio in a surprising new direction. Under the leadership of Mika Dauphin, the Hamburg-based distributor now adds Takumi, a brand specialising exclusively in turntables and phono cartridges. This marks the first time the distributor is venturing into a purely analogue category.

Takumi – Mastery, Precision and Dedication

The name Takumi originates from Japanese, meaning master craftsman or artisan – a person who perfects their skills over many years with the utmost dedication. In modern use, the word often symbolises precision, perfectionism and devotion to one’s craft. Although the name is Japanese, the brand itself hails from the Netherlands, created by Rik Stoet of Rijswijk.

The Story of Takumi

Rik Stoet grew up in an audio-focused family. His grandfather ran a transformer factory, highly regarded for audio transformers and valve amplifiers. This early exposure sparked Stoet’s fascination with electronics. After studying electrical engineering, he founded Rik Stoet Audio in 1993, initially producing valve amplifiers and later CD players under the Heart and StoetKit brands, which even reached the US market.

About ten years ago, Stoet turned his attention to turntable design. His first creation, the Takumi, quickly gained recognition in the Netherlands, with a limited run of 100 units selling out fast. Building on that success, he set out to design an even better, more affordable record player that also offered strong visual appeal. Today, Takumi has evolved into a brand producing both turntables and phono cartridges.

A Focus on Detail

According to Drei H Vertriebs GmbH, it was Takumi’s attention to detail that convinced them to include the brand in their portfolio. The combination of high-end performance at accessible prices impressed the distributor.

“All Takumi turntables embody a unique balance. They are crafted in the spirit of Japanese artisanal tradition, yet rely on contemporary engineering and minimalist design. Each model is built with the utmost precision to deliver truly authentic, detailed sound reproduction. By focusing on essentials – premium materials, low-resonance construction and timeless aesthetics – Takumi bridges audiophile quality with refined design.”

The analogue solutions from Takumi stand out not only for their craftsmanship and performance but also for their attractive price range, appealing to a broad audience of vinyl enthusiasts.
