Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp – Compact all-rounder

Lake People electronic GmbH introduces the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp, another solution from the Violectric brand, and a true multi-talent, as the manufacturer from Lake Constance puts on record.

The new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp is nothing less than a true multi-talent, according to Lake People electronic GmbH, which presents another solution of the Violectric brand.

In the most compact form, a D/A converter, a preamplifier and a headphone amplifier are available.

Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp – In the tradition of its DHA siblings

Lake People electronic GmbH considers the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp to be completely in the tradition of its sibling models of the Violectric DHA Series. This makes it clear that first-class quality is paired with a lot of functions, and, as just described, in a very compact form.

It is therefore quite understandable that one speaks of a true all-rounder here, especially when one looks at the extensive equipment in detail.

High-resolution converter

The first essential component of the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp is a D/A converter, using a Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC from Cirrus Logic Inc. This is capable of processing signals in Linear PCM with up to 32 bits and 384 kHz, as well as DSD up to DSD256. The manufacturer praises the wide dynamic range of typically 130 dB and the lowest distortion of -115 dB as the most important features.

The only interface for the D/A converter on the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp is a USB-C port, which ensures connection to a PC or Mac.

Use as a preamplifier

But the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp is not only equipped for digital signals, it also allows the integration of at least two analogue sources. The corresponding pairs of RCA sockets are available for this purpose.

The Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp can thus be used as a compact preamplifier, for example in direct interaction with active speaker systems.

Primary use as a headphone amplifier

But of course, the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp focuses on one function above all others, namely its use as a headphone amplifier.

Once again, the developers have used all their decades of expertise to create a solution of the highest standard, allowing the use of a wide variety of headphones under the best possible conditions.

Lake People electronic GmbH has been famous for the exceptional quality of the headphone amplifiers developed and built on Lake Constance for years. The Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp is designed to live up to this reputation.

With connection options via 4-pin XLR, PENTACONN or 6.3 mm stereo jack, the Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp offers a choice of one unbalanced and two balanced formats. It is said to have four output stages for true balanced operation. Not only do the connection format and signal symmetry offer almost unlimited compatibility with a wide variety of headphones, according to the manufacturer, but the pre-gain circuitry also allows the level to be adjusted to the model of choice.

The high output voltage of over 23 Vrms allows for trouble-free operation of high-impedance headphones, while the generous output power of up to 3,500 mW also optimally supports low impedances and even magnetostats. The high damping factor and extremely low distortion values ensure particularly clean reproduction. This offers even the most demanding users a solution for true high-end quality.

Developed and manufactured at Lake Constance

Of course, the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp was also developed at Lake Constance and is manufactured at Lake People electronic GmbH.

In addition to the craftsmanship of well-trained specialists, the quality also benefits from the meticulous selection of the best components, according to the manufacturer’s promise. In the case of the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp, for example, this means an Alps RK 27 potentiometer with a 38 mm all-aluminium knob.

The new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp is available immediately from specialist dealers. The recommended retail price for this solution is stated by the manufacturer at € 1,399.

Getting to the point

Once again Lake People electronic GmbH presents a new solution of the Violectric brand, whereby it is once again a combination of D/A converter and headphone amplifier. However, the new Violectric DHA V226 Balanced Headphone Amp also has analogue inputs, so that it can be used in the most compact form particularly flexibly as a D/A converter, headphone amplifier and preamplifier.
