Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition – active loudspeaker in new finish

The Triangle ELARA LN05A is described by the French speaker specialist Triangle Electroacoustique as a true all-in-one solution, as a pair of active speaker systems that can take over the tasks of a complete HiFi chain. Analog inputs including a phono preamplifier are just as much a part of the basic equipment here as digital interfaces, and Bluetooth for “wireless” signal transmission must not be missing either. All this is presented here in the form of particularly slim floor-standing speaker systems that can be seamlessly integrated into any living environment.

Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition – Two new design variants

In fact, it should be noted that the Triangle ELARA LN05A has been in the Triangle Electroacoustique range for quite some time, the French company even launched the active speaker systems in 2017.

Now, however, they present new design variants in 2022, which replace the existing range and are offered as Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition.

Triangle Electroacoustique previously offered Triangle ELARA LN05A speaker systems in Matte Black and Matte White finishes, two admittedly timeless colors that have stood the test of time for many, many years and remain among many customers’ favorites when it comes to speaker systems.

On the other hand, wood veneers are also very much in demand, although these design versions are clearly subject to fashion trends, which have to be oriented not least to the fashion trends in the field of interiors.

Triangle Electroacoustique decided to launch the Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition in two versions: Chestnut and Light Oak.

Chestnut offers a more rustic but distinguished style that can be harmoniously combined with white and colored tones. Light Oak has a lighter, golden note that is appreciated for its discreet, refined and subtle tone that suits all interior styles, according to the French company’s assessment.

Technical key data

The Triangle ELARA LN05A active loudspeaker system and thus also the new Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition are, as already described, particularly slim solutions. The systems have dimensions of 900 mm in height, 165 mm in width and 263 mm in depth and weigh 27.3 kg.

They are designed as a 2.5-way bass reflex system, whereby the entire experience and expertise in the development of the finest speaker systems was of course incorporated.

Thus, a 25 mm silk dome tweeter is used here, which should come up with a particularly detailed, also very soft, smooth sound. The two 13 cm woofers rely on membranes made of specially treated paper and should convince with a powerful, yet precise performance. Together with the front-firing bass reflex system, a frequency range between 47 Hz and 22 kHz is supposed to be reproduced.

Power amplifiers in Class D, which drive the Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition and provide a power of at least two times 80 watts, ensure sufficient emphasis in the performance.

The system is designed so that one speaker of the pair is active, the second passive. All connections are thus found on the right speaker. The connection between the two speaker systems is then made using conventional speaker cable and corresponding screw terminals on the speakers.

The Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition first provides an analog input, and it also has an integrated phono preamp for drives equipped with MM cartridge systems. In addition to an optical interface, a coaxial S/PDIF interface is also available for digital sources, and an additional subwoofer can be integrated via its own RCA connection.

Those who want to use smartphones, tablets or other mobile devices as a source can do so via Bluetooth. Although the Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition only uses Bluetooth 4.0, it can not only support the lossy codecs SBC and AAC, but also aptX and thus a signal transmission with “CD quality”.

According to the manufacturer, the new Triangle ELARA LN05A 2022 Edition will be available immediately from retailers. The recommended retail price for the pair is listed at € 999,-. The scope of delivery includes a power cable as well as a suitable connection cable between active and passive speaker, which has a length of 5 m for optimal placement in the room.
