Tivoli Audio Model One+ – Design classic with FM and DAB Tuner

Tivoli Audio is now taking a completely new approach with one of its most important models. The new Tivoli Audio Model One+ looks like the classic Tivoli Audio Model One at first sight, but it is inspired by the Tivoli Audio Model One Digital. The result is a mixture of classic and modern…

Tivoli Audio Ltd. has always been known as a company that places special emphasis on unique design. It is mostly a mixture of classic and modern style elements that the company works with, in addition to the fact that the compact audio systems can provide a very good sound. This strategy was founded with the Tivoli Audio Model One and has since been continued in a variety of versions.

Gone are the days when the focus was solely on radio, because Tivoli Audio has a wide range of products, from radio, Bluetooth, CD players, even streaming.

But now it is time to go back to the roots with the new Tivoli Audio Model One+. This is not to be confused with the solution that the company offers as an essential component of the so-called Tivoli Audio ART Series, the Tivoli Audio Model One Digital. The new Tivoli Audio Model One+ is a solution of the Tivoli Audio CLASSIC Series, which is completely based on the design and concept of the original Tivoli Audio Model One. However, the Tivoli Audio ART Series was borrowed from the Tivoli Audio ART Series, and instead of an FM radio, the latest solution has an FM and DAB+ tuner.

The cabinet of the new Tivoli Audio Model One+ is therefore in the traditional form, literally “classic”, with a choice of Oak Black, Grey White and Walnut Beige. The noble wooden case is thus combined in the usual form with a front and back in metal. This solid construction alone is one of the reasons why the new Tivoli Audio Model One+ is also able to offer a rich sound, which is not necessarily to be expected from its compact dimensions.

The front of the new Tivoli Audio Model One+ is, of course, adorned with a rotary encoder, plus two additional encoders which are centrally located. However, instead of the analogue clock, there is now a display on the front which, as already mentioned, is very similar to the Tivoli Audio Model One DIGITAL from the Tivoli Audio ART Series. Directly below the display there are five buttons for quick access to presets.

The broadband speaker of the Tivoli Audio Model One+ is located directly at the top, protected by a metal grille. The manufacturer refers to this as a so-called long-throw driver, which can also rely on a bass-reflex system to guarantee a particularly round, attractive sound.

In addition to the FM and DAB+ tuner, the new Tivoli Audio Model One+ also has a line in, so that a streaming solution, be it Bluetooth or WiFi, can be integrated. Of course, a headphone output is also included, both of which can be found on the back of the device.

The new Tivoli Audio Model One+ is expected to be available soon, according to current information from the manufacturer. It should be available at the end of October 2020. The recommended retail price is € 249,-. To underline this, three versions will be available, Oak Black, Grey White and Walnut Beige. By the way, this time a matching infrared remote control will be included in the scope of delivery.

Getting to the point

Back to the roots is probably now the motto at Tivoli Audio Ltd. with the new Tivoli Audio Model One+. This is not to be confused with the Tivoli Audio Model One Digital, which the company provides as an essential component of the so-called Tivoli Audio ART Series.
