Teufel CINEBAR 11 – Never again flat TV sound

The new Teufel CINEBAR 11 puts an end to flat TV sound, according to Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH’s promise regarding the new edition of this soundbar, which can optionally be expanded into a fully-fledged surround sound system.

Teufel CINEBAR 11 is the name of the latest soundbar from Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH, which the Berlin-based company is now presenting. It is the new edition of Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH’s most popular soundbar, which in the current generation has significantly more power than its predecessor, can be expanded into a surround sound system and has a new wireless subwoofer, the Teufel T 6, as a companion for the bass foundation.

Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH once again states that a sound upgrade is a good thing for almost every TV set, impeccable picture quality is what modern Smart TVs are good at, but fine sound is definitely not. It is all too understandable that customers are opting for soundbar systems, as this is clearly the simplest and, of course, also the most cost-effective solution.

Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH can point to a wide range of soundbar systems, so when Europe’s largest direct mail order company states that the Teufel CINEBAR 11 is the most successful model, this already says a lot and probably didn’t make the developers’ job of designing a new edition of this successful model any easier.

Teufel CINEBAR 11 with slim design

Once again, the focus was on a particularly compact shape; the Teufel CINEBAR 11 is even described as a very slim soundbar, so that it can be easily integrated into any living environment. It measures 94.8 cm in width, just 6 cm in height and 8.3 cm in depth. It thus weighs 1.81 kg. This is important because wall mounting is of course also possible; the corresponding holes on the back do not even require a special device.

Teufel T 6 Subwoofer vertical or horizontal

The subwoofer is much more “massive”, although the Teufel T 6 subwoofer has a particularly slim design. The subwoofer measures just 12 cm in width, 42 cm in height and 42 cm in depth. This means that the subwoofer can be placed either horizontally or vertically, depending on the individual circumstances or what seems to be the best solution. Even a placement under the couch, for example, is no problem. A selector switch on the rear panel optimises the playback for the corresponding placement. By the way, there is no need to worry about cables, only a power connection is required in the immediate vicinity, the connection to the soundbar is made via radio. It should also be mentioned at this point that the Teufel T 6 subwoofer weighs 7.66 kg.

Teufel Dynamore technology

Two 20 mm tweeters and six 45 mm mid-range drivers are used in the Teufel CINEBAR 11, whereby Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH once again relies on the so-called Teufel Dynamore technology for virtual surround sound. Ultimately, however, it is essentially a 2.1-channel system, which should be mentioned for the sake of completeness. The drivers are driven by Class D amplifier modules, eight in number, with a total output of 150 watts.

The subwoofer is equipped with a 165 mm woofer with coated cellulose membrane, which is supported by a bass reflex system and operated with 60 watts.

The soundbar itself covers a frequency range between 33 Hz and 20 kHz, the frequency range of the subwoofer is 31 to 200 Hz.

HDMI, TOS-Link and Bluetooth

First and foremost, an HDMI interface is available for the connection to the TV set, and an HDMI input is also available. This is capable of passing through content in 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision and 3D, and of course the HDMI output for the TV set supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) as well as HDMI CEC for central control with the TV remote control alone.

The Teufel CINEBAR 11 also offers an optical S/PDIF interface and a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack connection.

Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets can also be connected via the integrated Bluetooth 5.0 module, which also supports the aptX codec for playback in “CD quality”.

Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS

The DSP-based signal processing of the new Teufel CINEBAR 11 is capable of processing Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS content. In addition, various sound presets are available, including a special night mode, in order to curb the playback in the bass range somewhat at an early hour.

A special feature of the Teufel CINEBAR 11 is that it provides the basis for a real surround system. So if you want to enjoy multi-channel surround sound not just virtually but actually, you can optionally add the Teufel EFFEKT as a rear speaker to the Teufel CINEBAR 11. Of course, this is also done “wirelessly” via radio alone; only a power socket should be available near the speakers.

As already mentioned, the system is primarily operated via the TV remote control anyway, but Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH also includes a matching remote control in the package of this soundbar. It is also possible to operate the system directly on the device, using touch buttons, with a dimmable white display shining through behind the metal front grille and keeping all the essential information ready at all times.
