Sound United LLC. presents HDMI adapter kit SPK618 to solve 4K/120 Hz and 8K incompatibilities

The SPK618 HDMI adapter kit is expected to soon address issues around the display of content in 4K/120 Hz and 8K incompatibilities of certain Denon and Marantz AV receivers, according to Sound United LLC.

HDMI adapter kit SPK618 is the name Sound United LLC has given to the HDMI adapter that is supposed to solve a compatibility problem between selected Denon and Marantz AV receivers with regard to content in 4K/120 Hz and 8K video resolution in connection with game consoles that support said 4K/120 Hz and 8K.

AV receivers and 8K-compatible game consoles not the best of friends…

Until now, the interaction with the latest game consoles and AV receivers has sometimes not been entirely smooth, due to an HDMI 2.1 bug. Sound United LLC. now wants to get rid of this bug with the aforementioned HDMI adapter kit SPK618.

HDMI Adapter Kit SPK618

Here’s how the company writes: if the screen remains dark when trying to pass a 4K/120 Hz or an 8K signal through the 8K input of an AV receiver, and no sound is output either, the new SPK618 HDMI Adapter Kit will remedy the situation.

This HDMI adapter kit SPK618 is connected between the 8K-compatible game console and the AV receiver, so it is ultimately an additional device that is integrated between the source device and the AV receiver.

Registration possible from 15 May 2021

In order to receive this HDMI adapter kit SPK618, affected customers can register from 15 May 2021 on a specially online website of Sound United LLC., here for customers of the Denon brand, here for those of the Marantz brand.

The list of AV receivers that are affected by this is quite long. The Denon brand includes the Denon AVC-A110, Denon AVC-X6700H, Denon AVC-X4700H, Denon AVC-X3700H, Denon AVR-X2700H, Denon AVR-X2700HDAB and Denon AVR-S960H systems.

Getting to the point

For Sound United LLC., this bug of the HDMI board of selected AV receivers is probably quite costly in the end, because instead of being able to fix this with any firmware updates, they now have to offer the HDMI adapter kit SPK618, and free of charge, as the currently available information shows.
