Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless – First-class sound enjoyment without cables

German specialist Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG has set itself ambitious goals for the new Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless. The company says that it intends to break existing rules. High-end acoustic technology is set to redefine wireless listening pleasure and, with maximum wearing comfort and a long battery life, allow music to be enjoyed all day long at a very attractive price.

As one of the leading companies in the field of headphones, loudspeakers, microphones and wireless transmission technology, it is definitely an advantage to be able to dedicate oneself to both the professional and the consumer segment, such as the German company Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG has been doing this for years. In this way, developments designed for the professional segment, which has particularly high demands, can flow directly into products in the consumer sector. This will be the case, for example, with the new headphones that the Wedemark-based company is now launching on the market, namely the new Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless.

The new Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless relies on an acoustic system that was developed for the Premium True Wireless headphones, combining this with maximum wearing comfort, so that people really want to make the most of the long battery life of these in-ear headphones to enjoy music all day long. In addition, the system is extremely easy to use and intuitive, with a stylish, minimalist design.

As so-called True Wireless In-ear headphones, there is really no cable to get in the way, so you enjoy absolute freedom of movement. This makes it all the more important that the Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless really sit securely in the ear, and the manufacturer refers to a housing designed in accordance with ergonomic guidelines to ensure just that. Comfort is ensured by interchangeable earpieces, which are made of skin-friendly silicone and are supplied with the headphones in four sizes – XS, S, M and L.

The connection between source and headphones is via Bluetooth, using Bluetooth 5.1. Besides the lossy compressed SBC, AAC and aptX are also supported. The former codec is essential for Apple iOS in order to achieve almost “CD quality” here as well, as aptX has so far been ignored by Apple, whereas it has long been considered standard on smartphones with Google Android. Of course, the new Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless can also be used for telephone calls, where high-quality microphones are used to ensure impeccable voice quality. For example, ambient noise is to be filtered out very effectively. Voice assistants are also within “hearing range”, whether it be Apple Siri on the Apple iPhone or Google Assistant in the world of Google Android. The matching app, the Sennheiser Smart Control App, is also available for both platforms.

At the heart of the new Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless is a dynamic driver with a diameter of 7 mm, such as that already used in the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2. As with the latter, it is said to offer an outstanding sound image. The company promises powerful basses, natural mid-range and clear, detailed trebles. With the help of the Sennheiser Smart Control App, the sound character can be adjusted to suit personal preferences using the equaliser implemented here.

A touch interface on the Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless provides a convenient means of controlling playback and volume, as well as making telephone calls and using the voice assistant. Which gesture triggers which command can be configured as desired using the app mentioned above.

The lithium-polymer battery of the Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless is designed to have a playing time of up to seven hours. The transport box included in the scope of delivery is also equipped with a rechargeable battery and can therefore be used not only for safe storage but also as a so-called power bank. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, this results in a total playing time of 20 hours. The transport box has a USB-C port, so that in the simplest case you can recharge at a USB interface, for example in the car, on a notebook, or via a corresponding 5V universal charger.

“With the CX 400BT True Wireless, first-class wireless sound quality is accessible to everyone.
