Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System – Precision in Sound and Design

With an exclusive version of the Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System, Ruark Audio launches the new Ruark Signature Series. The Ruark R5 Signature is intended to stand for nothing other than precision in sound and design.

Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System is the name of the new Ruark Signature Series from the English manufacturer Ruark Audio. The reason for choosing the Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System is its outstanding functionality. Originally presented in 2019, the Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System is still one of the most outstanding of its kind.

Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System as a new benchmark

Ruark Audio announced the Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System as a new benchmark in the product group of all-in-one systems, combining exquisite design, impeccable workmanship, compact dimensions and outstanding sound with versatility. The solution has everything that a modern, innovative consumer electronics solution must offer.

Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System – Limited Edition Exclusivity

With the new Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System, however, the company wants to go one step further. The already outstanding design of the previous version is to be raised to a new level with this version. Precision and sound and design, that’s how the English company describes this new solution.

Piano lacquer as an eye-catcher

The new Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System presents itself with a noble finish in black piano lacquer. The company states that this is painstakingly applied by hand and polished several times to guarantee a flawless surface.

But that’s not all: the Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System also features accents in rose gold, for example on the front as a border around the display, on the top, and also the feet on which the all-in-one system rests are made of metal and refined in this way. Even the back, which relies on a metal cover, is finished in rose gold in this special version, right down to the heat sinks.

The colour of the front cover has of course been adapted accordingly, and is thus a shade darker than in the previous versions.

Yes, even the remote control of the system is kept in black, whereby the border also shines in rose gold – in the truest sense of the word.

CD, radio, streaming…

The special feature of this all-in-one has always been that it combines a variety of sources. The new Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System features a CD player that can play audio CDs as well as data carriers with audio data in various formats.

USB storage media can also be used as a source, and the corresponding USB port can of course also be used to charge smartphones, for example.

If you want to listen to the radio, you can do so via FM or DAB+. In addition, there is Internet radio, because the Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System can of course be integrated into the network.

The integration into the network is done either via a classic Ethernet interface or via the integrated WiFi module. In addition to the already mentioned Internet radio, you can then access your own content, as well as streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer and Amazon Music.

The system can be controlled very conveniently via the Ruark LINK app for Apple iOS and Google Android, which also supports multi-room audio streaming in combination with selected other solutions from Ruark Audio.

In addition to analogue and digital connections for other sources, including a phono preamplifier for turntables equipped with MM cartridge systems, Bluetooth is also available, whereby thanks to the support of aptX or aptX HD signals can be transmitted in “CD quality”, even in hi-res audio with at least 24 bit and 48 kHz.

Powerful Class A/B Amp

The Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System is designed as a 2.1-channel system, using drivers with a particularly light, yet stiff diaphragm and a powerful drive unit based on neodymium magnets. For a particularly convincing performance down to the lowest frequency ranges despite very compact dimensions, the developers rely on a long-throw subwoofer, so that the overall sound image should be natural and rich in detail.

The new Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System is driven by a Class AB amplifier with a rated power of 90 watts.

The signal is processed using the company’s latest sound processing technologies, which have been constantly optimised over the years and ensure a particularly realistic reproduction of the stereo stage. The manufacturer speaks of a new Stereo+ Enhanced Sound.

Simple, intuitive operation

We have already mentioned one aspect of intuitive operation, namely the app for Apple iOS and Google Android.

In addition, however, there is a generously designed OLED display directly on the unit in connection with the RotoDial on the top. This essentially combines all functions in a single multifunctional element. Of course, this concept is also reflected in the aforementioned remote control, which is part of the scope of delivery.

The system measures 142 x 520 x 300 mm and weighs 9.5 kg.

However, the new Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System will require a little patience. According to the manufacturer, it will probably not be available in specialist shops until summer 2021. The price is listed at £1,250.

Getting to the point

The previously available Ruark Audio R5 High Fidelity Music System was not only extremely flexible, but also a powerful all-in-one system with outstanding design. However, the English company Ruark Audio wants more and presents the new Ruark Signature Series, which is founded with the Ruark R5 Signature High Fidelity Music System.
