Roon 1.8 Build 790, the latest version of the media management and multi-room audio streaming software from Roon Labs LLC. is now available. Once again, this is an update that follows the last major release Roon 1.8 and comes up with a number of detail improvements.
New User Interface for Roon 1.8
As is well known, the software company Roon Labs LLC. focused on the user interface with Roon 1.8, as well as the way users can navigate through their media library, be it based on their own content, but also via the streaming services integrated in Roon.
The declared goal was to make content even more easily and intuitively accessible, and to optimise the way in which content is presented to the user.
The fact that not everything went as smoothly as the developers imagined has long been forgotten, because the massive problems of the first release have already been ironed out by the software company with countless updates in the last few weeks. Now, according to Roon Labs LLC, it is time for the detailed improvements, which will be made not least due to the feedback of the customers.
Roon 1.8 Build 790 brings detail improvements
The latest update, Roon 1.8 Build 790, which is now available, should also be seen from this point of view.
“Roon 1.8 includes a complete overhaul of the artist page, allowing Roon to present different types of artists more intelligently. This logic is complex and requires weighing a number of considerations to display the correct sections on each artist page, based on our understanding of their music.
Since the first version, we have fine-tuned this logic based on community feedback. This version continues that fine-tuning, and we believe we have now solved a large number of cases that we were able to reproduce based on community feedback. We have also reached out to many users to try out the latest code and confirm the fix. So far the feedback has been positive and we believe the artist page will display the intended content for all types of artists, inside or outside your library.
This release also includes a number of minor bug fixes and performance improvements that have been completed over the last few weeks. Thanks to everyone for the feedback and your patience as we continue to improve the Roon experience.”

- Fixed issue preventing certain artists from displaying in-library content on Overview tab
- Fixed issue preventing albums from showing on an artist’s page when adding a primary artist link
- Fixed missing ‘Main Albums’ section on Overview tab for users without streaming services
- Fixed missing Overview tab and library badges on Discography for some artists
- Album details: Better scrolling performance on albums with large number of tracks
- Fixed issues focusing input fields on many screens
- Removed duplicate bridge devices from Signal Path
- Fixed UI glitches on certain Windows + Nvidia setups when running at high refresh rate
Roon Build 790 is now available for Apple macOS, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Windows (64 bit), Roon OS as well as Linux. The new apps for Apple iOS and Google Android can also be downloaded. No new update is required for the so-called Roon Bridge.
Getting to the point
