Roon 1.7 Build 667 – Changes in structure for future innovations

According to Roon Labs LLC, it is no more than a so-called maintenance release of the now available version Roon 1.7 Build 667. Thus, one searches in vain for innovations or essential bug fixes. Nevertheless, the update provides interesting hints.

Every few weeks, the software company Roon Labs LLC. updates for its media management and multiroom audio streaming solution Roon. Now it is time once again and Roon 1.7 Build 667 is available for download.

Roon Labs LLC. states that Roon 1.7 Build 667 is no more than a service release, so this new version does not contain any significant new features that would immediately attract the user’s attention. Under the bonnet, however, this update also contains some interesting changes.

The new version includes some infrastructure changes in connection with the software update system.

Roon 1.7 Build 667 does not bring any real changes for many users at first, but this version ensures that Roon communicates correctly with the various changes that the software forge has made around update services.

In the future, these changes will allow more flexibility in distributing versions to users, so that any fixes can be tested with affected users before going live for the larger Roon community, Roon LLC said.

For Microosoft Windows, Apple macOS and Linux, the new versions are already available and are installed almost automatically. The latest app versions have already been submitted to the relevant stores and will soon be available for Apple iOS and Google Android.
