The new Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI marks a premiere, as it is the first solution aimed not primarily at consumers, but specifically at custom installation experts. The new stereo power amplifier is designed to provide them with a flexible solution for realising individual, customised projects.
Ultra-compact stereo power amplifier
Pro-Ject Audio Systems describes the new Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI as an ultra-compact stereo power amplifier, emphasising its sound quality to the extent that it is considered an audiophile solution. The aim is to meet the highest standards with this new product in the Pro-Ject Box Design Series.
The Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI is said to be characterised by a PCB concept designed according to audiophile features and a sophisticated topology, as the manufacturer states, and thus a solution has been realised whose signal processing is characterised by low distortion and a high signal-to-noise ratio. However, it should be noted that the focus here is on sound reinforcement in small to medium-sized rooms. The new Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI delivers 37 watts twice to speaker systems with an impedance of 4 ohms, as the data sheet reveals.
Special features for custom installation solutions
The new Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI is available in the familiar elegant, solid aluminium case in either silver or black, and will therefore fit in almost anywhere.
On the input side, the product features signal detection, so it automatically switches on or switches to standby depending on whether a signal is present or not. The Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI has a stereo input in the form of a pair of RCA jacks and a stereo loop output.
For connecting loudspeaker systems, there are special solutions available that have been optimised for professional use. And of course, 12 V trigger inputs and outputs for integration into control solutions are just as important as an RS232 interface.
It should also be mentioned that the new Pro-Ject Amp Box S3 CI not only has a volume control, but also bass and treble controls.
