Nubert nuJubilee 145 – High-end speaker for the 45th Birthday

Based on the proven technology of the Nubert nuVero 140, the new Nubert nuJubilee 145 is presented as a gift to Nubert electronic GmbH itself and its customers on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the company from Schwäbisch Gmünd. This three-way floor-standing loudspeaker system is supposed to express the whole sound fascination for which Nubert electronic GmbH has stood for years and days.

The company Nubert electronic GmbH celebrates its 45th birthday this year. On the occasion of this remarkable anniversary, the loudspeaker specialist from Schwäbisch Gmünd has come up with a number of special features to let customers take part in, such as free shipping over 45 weeks, but also quite extraordinary campaigns such as “Nubert macht Schule”. The actual highlight of the festivities, which was celebrated at the beginning of the year, was in January. On 10 January 1975, the company was founded in Schwäbisch Gmünd by Günther Nubert. At first, the solutions were considered an insider’s tip, especially in the do-it-yourself scene, but gradually the company built up an impeccable reputation as an international specialist for loudspeakers, and later on also as an expert for hi-fi electronics, which now also occupies an important place in the company’s product range.

Initially, the celebrations focused primarily on the presentation of the special model Nubert nuJubilee 45, a compact bookshelf speaker based on a true classic, the Nubert nuVero 4. Since this system was positioned particularly attractively in terms of price and was also offered in a really fine design variant in red and black, it is hardly surprising that this model was sold out within a few weeks. The model that now joins the ranks of special editions to mark the 45th anniversary of the Nubert nuJubilee 145 is also sure to be of great interest to customers, even if the new Nubert nuJubilee 145 is in a completely different class.

With the Nubert nuJubilee 145, Nubert electronic GmbH presents no less than a new high-end speaker, in the form of a quite remarkable floorstanding speaker system based directly on the Nubert nuVero 140. Not only is this special model intended to offer the highest quality standards in terms of features and design, it is also largely handcrafted in Germany, but is nevertheless offered at a particularly attractive price. The new Nubert Jubilee 145 is thus intended to fully express the fascination of sound on the one hand, but also the special corporate philosophy of Nubert electronic GmbH.

Let us start our closer inspection with the probably most striking feature of the new Nubert nuJubilee 145, which, like the previously mentioned first special model of this anniversary year at Nubert electronic GmbH, is also finished in a very special paint. The front of the Nubert nuJubilee 145 is adorned with rich ruby red in a metallic high-gloss finish, while the housing is in a deep black colour and finished with Nextel lacquer. This colouring is by no means accidental, the ruby red is intended to express the 45 years of dedication and heart and soul with which Nubert elektronik GmbH has dedicated itself to the perfection of sound reproduction, according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Fact is, this deep red colour with its glossy surface will probably be a real highlight in the listening room, especially since the speaker system has quite impressive dimensions. The speaker measures 142.5 cm in height, is 29 cm wide and 44.5 cm deep, whereby these specifications include the sound sail and feet. 48 kg has to be balanced to the correct position in the listening room, this should be mentioned as a discreet “warning”. This will probably not be possible on your own…

If Nubert electronik GmbH has its way, the new Nubert nuJubilee 145 is of course not only designed for classic stereo, but the company also recommends this solution as an impressive and powerful front speaker in a surround configuration. Just like the technically identical series model Nubert nuVero 140, the new Nubert nuJubilee 145 is acoustically neutrally tuned for this purpose, according to the manufacturer’s promise. This is to ensure that it reproduces recordings of any kind and in any unaltered form, but with the typical Nubert joy of playing. Nubert electronic GmbH even speaks of a universal talent that optimally reproduces any music genre at a high-end level, be it rock, pop, folk, jazz or large classical orchestras.

For this purpose, the Nubert nuJubilee 145 is designed as a 3.5-way bass reflex system, initially using a tweeter with a 26 mm silk fabric dome. In addition, there are two 52 mm diameter flat diaphragm drivers for the mid-range, as well as no less than four 180 mm longstroke woofers, which can rely on glass fibre-reinforced diaphragms and powerful drive units for an accurate performance. The Nubert nuJubilee 145 is capable of reproducing a frequency range between 25 Hz and 25 kHz, with an optional tuning module available that allows reproduction down to 23 Hz. The impedance of the new Nubert nuJubilee 145 is 4 Ohm, the sensitivity is specified at 85 dB. This means that it is designed for amplifiers with a rated output of 440 watts and for a maximum music load of up to 600 watts. In this power class it makes sense, the tweeter as well as the woofers and the crossover are protected against overload, whereby it is a self-resetting fuse.

By the way, if you missed a mention of the almost always obligatory loudspeaker grill, you won’t find it here. In contrast to the regular version of the Nubert nuVero 140, the new special model Nubert nuJubilee 145 manages without this front cover. It would also be a pity to hide this sound sail in ruby red…

If you are enthusiastic about the new Nubert nuJubilee 145, you shouldn’t wait too long, because, as already described, it is a special model which is only offered in limited quantities. In addition, while the normal Nubert nuVero 140 is available at a unit price of € 2.235,-, Nubert electronic GmbH offers the new special model at a unit price of only € 2.145,-, the limited anniversary model is even cheaper, but only while stocks last.

One more thing, if you want to build up a complete chain around the new Nubert nuJubilee 145, and are looking for the right electronics for this speaker, Nubert electronic GmbH offers a particularly attractive package for the market launch. The new Nubert nuJubilee 145 is to be offered as a set together with the preamplifier Nubert nuControl 2 and the Class D power amplifier Nubert nuPower D as an extremely powerful chain. The Nubert nuControl 2 and Nubert nuPower D have already proven their impressive potential in the sempre-audio.at test. For this you have to calculate with € 8.450,-, whereby one can definitely speak of a Nubert nuJubilee 145 savings package, because this saves € 400,- compared to the single purchase. The fact that it also comes with a free warranty extension to five years should not remain unmentioned.

The new Nubert nuJubilee 145 should be available from May 4, 2020 in the online store of Nubert electronic GmbH, but it can already be pre-ordered now. One more thing should be mentioned, this speaker alone is offered in pairs and thus at a price of € 4.290,-. Each model has a metal badge with a running production number as proof of the limited number of pieces, furthermore it is signed by Günther Nubert.
