It’s been ten years since Naim Audio Ltd. and Focal JMlab came together under one roof, and they’re celebrating this anniversary with a very special hi-fi chain, the Naim & Focal 10th Anniversary Edition.

Naim & Focal 10th Anniversary Edition, with this solution the renowned English HiFi brand Naim Audio Ltd. and the French loudspeaker specialist Focal JMlab celebrate a special anniversary. For ten years now, these two brands have been working together intensively, not least because both companies belong to one group, namely the Vervent Audio Group.

With the Naim & Focal 10th Anniversary Edition, a complete hi-fi chain is now available to mark this anniversary, which is considered to be an expression of the strengths of both brands, or rather to combine the strengths that both brands can demonstrate together in one system.

The new Naim & Focal 10th Anniversary Edition naturally includes electronic components from the traditional English brand Naim Audio Ltd. and the crowning glory of this system is to be formed by loudspeaker systems from Focal JMlab.

In order for this solution to stand out visually as a limited special series, a completely new, uniform finish is used for both the electronics and the loudspeaker systems. The colour is “tin”, which translates directly to pewter.

An outstanding system

The two companies describe the Naim & Focal 10th Anniversary Edition as an outstanding system, because it offers excellent systems from both brands that can show off their individual strengths as a complete solution.

Focal Sopra N°2 as a loudspeaker system

The most striking component is, of course, the loudspeaker system, which is a Focal Sopra N°2. Popular, according to the manufacturer, for its compact yet powerful design, the Focal Sopra N°2 floorstanding speaker system has been given a unique finish, with concrete on the side panels and the aforementioned pewter colour on the front. The two manufacturers said in their press release that they had been inspired by fine architecture. These sculptural surfaces, which create a metallic effect previously unknown in the audio industry, are said to embody all the craftsmanship and industrial know-how that Focal JMlab has accumulated over more than 40 years.

The loudspeaker systems from France are driven by a range of select electronic components from England. At the heart of this is the Naim NDX 2 in combination with the Naim NAC 282 preamplifier and Naim NAP 250 DR power amplifier, complemented by the Naim HiCap DR and Naim NAPSC power supplies. These high-end products are, of course, also finished in the colour pewter to ensure perfect harmony. Finally, the system includes all the necessary connections, including a pair of Super Lumina cables, Naim Audio Ltd and Focal JMlab promise.

The merger of Naim Audio Ltd. and Focal JMlab, announced in 2011, has resulted in numerous products created in direct cooperation over the years. The intention at the time was to exploit synergies and benefit from the respective expertise of the two renowned companies in the best possible way.

In addition, Naim Audio Ltd. and Focal JMlab always state that the solutions of the partners will naturally be used for the development of their own products and should therefore also represent an optimal combination from the customer’s point of view.

In order to make this clear, the two companies have been working together outwardly for years, above all through a continuously expanding network of flagship stores, the Focal powered by Naim Concept Stores, which are now also gaining momentum in this country and will probably ultimately lead to the Vervent Audio Group no longer focussing on specialist dealers for distribution, but solely on these own stores, that must be clearly stated.

The new Naim & Focal 10th Anniversary Edition hi-fi chain now presented will also be on display in the Focal powered by Naim concept store, it should be noted at this point.

If you are interested in this HiFi chain, you should have a few euros on your side, as the manufacturer is asking US$ 48.000,-. If you want to buy the matching rack system at the same time, you’ll have to budget another US$ 5.500,-.
