MusicLife App for Apple iOS and Google Android

With the latest version of the MusicLife app, not only is it optimised for more convenient use, Harman International Industries Ltd. is also moving towards a unified app for Arcam, JBL Synthesis and Mark Levinson brand solutions.

Since a few days, the MusicLife App of Harman International Industries Ltd. is available in a new version, both for Apple iOS and Google Android.

It not only presents itself with a new user interface and various other practical innovations, it is also designed for solutions of the brands Arcam, JBL Synthesis and Mark Levinson.

Harman International Industries Ltd is completing a move that will ensure a unified app across the group’s various brands.

The manufacturer says the MusicLife app gives users complete control over a UPnP-based media player on the network, including playback of content stored on a Google Android or Apple iOS device. In addition, playback to any Bluetooth or Google Cast device is supported, though of course support can only be offered for Harman Group solutions.

The latest version is supposed to allow a particularly intuitive handling, and during the development they tried to react to customer feedback from previous apps and to implement wishes as best as possible.

Favourite albums, playback lists, radio stations or podcasts can now be added directly to the start screen so that they are immediately available. The 30 most recently played albums, playback lists, Internet radio stations and podcasts are also displayed directly. Conversely, services that are not used at all can be hidden if desired.

The selection of a streaming client should now only have to be made once, the app remembers it and automatically connects to this device every time it is restarted.

In addition, the app now has a new, as the manufacturer himself puts it, fresher design, and a special adaptation to the so-called Night Mode is now available.

The MusicLife App for Google Android and Apple iOS is designed for the following systems from Harman International Industries Ltd.

First of all, there are the systems of the Arcam brand, first and foremost all network AV receivers of the Arcam HDA range equipped with streaming functionality. The Arcam CDS50, Arcam CDS27, Arcam UDP411, Arcam SA30 Integrated Amplifier, Arcam ST60 Streamer, Arcam Solo Uno, Arcam Solo Movie and Arcam Solo Music systems can also be controlled with it.

The JBL Synthesis brand solutions are the JBL Synthesis SDR-35 and JBL Synthesis SDP-55 products, and the Mark Levinson No°5101 and Mark Levinson N°519 are listed.

Currently, the MusicLife App version 4.0.0 is available in the Google PLAY Store and the MusicLife App version 4.1.1 in the Apple App Store.

Getting to the point

It is obvious that Harman Industries International Ltd. takes advantage of synergies that result from the merger of several established brands under one roof, especially for such complex projects as an app for controlling streaming clients. Thus, the streaming solutions of the brands Arcam, JBL Synthesis and Mark Levinson are now connected by the MusicLife App, which is available for Apple and iOS.
