Lindemann Limetree BRIDGE and Lindemann Limetree NETWORK now Spotify Connect ready

In the coming days, users of a Lindemann Limetree Series streaming solution can expect a new update. One of the most important new features is the support of Spotify Connect by the German high-end specialist Lindemann audiotechnik GmbH.

Some time ago, the German company Lindemann audiotechnik GmbH introduced a completely new product group, a product group that presents itself as a family of little “helpers”, i.e. the individual systems are always dedicated to a specific task and are really almost tiny, yet extremely fine and thus more than worthy of a high-end hi-fi forge.

We are talking about the so-called Lindemann Limetree Series, which, in addition to headphone amplifiers in the form of the Lindemann Limetree HEADPHONE, a phono preamplifier in the form of the Lindemann Limetree PHONO, also includes streaming solutions, namely the Lindemann Limetree BRIDGE and Lindemann Limetree NETWORK.

The manufacturer describes the Lindemann Limetree Network as an excellent network player which, according to the company, can play music from a wide range of streaming services, a central network storage solution, but also local storage media such as a USB stick or a USB hard drive.

The Lindemann Limetree Bridge has the same range of functions in principle, but as the name easily suggests, it is designed as a pure network bridge and therefore, unlike the Lindemann Limetree Network just described, has no integrated converters.

Lindemann audiotechnik GmbH is now once again offering new firmware for both streaming devices, which brings with it some very important innovations.

First and foremost, the support of Spotify including Spotify Connect is the main focus. Admittedly, this lossy streaming service may not be of great interest at first glance, after all the systems of the Lindemann Limetree Series are aimed at discerning hi-fi enthusiasts and music enthusiasts, but in the end Spotify proves to be a very practical solution due to its diversity alone, and is therefore also used by many users.

This also includes the fact that you don’t even need another app than Spotify to use Spotify via Spotify Connect, all compatible systems are listed here as available playback devices and seamless playback between mobile use and home is also possible. In addition, the stream is handled directly by the corresponding devices, so the smartphone, be it Google Android or Apple iOS, can be used for further tasks.

Since the firmware update for the Lindemann Limetree Series also includes other important improvements and the odd bug fix, the manufacturer recommends all users to install it, even if they do not use Spotify. However, this is done automatically anyway, as soon as the update is available and you call up the app for the Lindemann Limetree BRIDGE or Lindemann Limetree NETWORK.
