Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6

There will only be 75 pairs of this loudspeaker system, which the US loudspeaker specialist Klipsch is now presenting in the form of the Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6.

Strictly limited to just 75 pairs, the new Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6 will be presented by the US loudspeaker specialist Klipsch on the occasion of its 75th birthday.

This is a direct reference to a solution that company founder Paul W. Klipsch first brought to market in 1946 as the Klipsch Klipschorn, and which is currently offered in series production as the Klipsch Klipschorn AK6.

Klipschorn first presented in 1946

The highly efficient Klipschorn was developed in 1946, as just described, by Paul W. Klipsch, who was considered an audio pioneer and ultimately founded his company with this solution. The intention behind this extraordinary loudspeaker system was to give people the opportunity to experience the power, detail and emotion of a live performance at home for the first time.

In retrospect, it can be said that a legend was born that continues to captivate hi-fi lovers to this day.

Available until today

Klipsch can therefore justifiably claim that the Klipsch Klipschorn is the only loudspeaker in the world that has been in continuous production for 75 years and has been offered relatively unchanged and thus in virtually the same form since its introduction.

Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6 with classic features

The Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6 features a fully enclosed woofer horn cabinet that offers more flexibility in listening room placement as the cabinet acts as a corner, delivering powerful bass performance and enhanced imaging. A 1-inch titanium tweeter and a 90° x 40° Klipsch Tractrix horn extend the high-frequency response to above 20 kHz.

The loudspeaker system presented on the occasion of Klipsch’s 75th birthday thus also essentially presents itself with a very simple, but ultimately all the more ingenious design principle.

Special combination of materials

However, the developers relied on a very special choice of materials and a unique design. The cabinet has a teak veneer and the grill is made of lambswool. These are materials that Klipsch says have been specially selected to underline the elegance and durability of Klipschorn’s 75th anniversary and at the same time pay homage to the mid-century modern design of the Klipsch Heritage Series.

As an equally striking sign of the special nature of this particular model, the Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6 features a logo reminiscent of 1946, found on the front of the speaker and set off with a diamond that highlights the specially designed logo in sterling silver, hand-applied enamel and rhodium plating.

As a further sign that this is a strictly limited special edition, the speaker systems feature a plaque with laser-engraved serial number, date and signature of the technician who made them.

Purchasers of any of the 75 pairs will also receive an exclusive engraved record-sized box containing a 75th anniversary book, a poster, an illuminated logo sign, a pair of Klipsch T5 II headphones with engraved 75th anniversary logo, a set of four leather coasters, a free one-year membership to the Klipsch Museum of Audio History, a three-month Qobuz membership and a certificate of authenticity.

Design from the USA, handmade in the USA

In this context, Klipsch explicitly points out that the new Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6, like every loudspeaker in the Klipsch Heritage Series, is still designed and handmade in the USA, with the grain matched with veneer panels made from the same wood, so that the loudspeaker pair is indistinguishable from the other.

The manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty for this speaker series, thus also for the Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6.

The new Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6 is to be offered immediately at certified Klipsch Heritage dealers, however, as mentioned in the introduction, only 75 pairs of this exceptional speaker system are available worldwide.

The recommended retail price is listed by the manufacturer at US$ 25,000 per pair,

Getting to the point

With the Klipsch 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6, the US loudspeaker specialist Klipsch celebrates its 75th birthday in a more than fitting manner. After all, this is a special version of exactly the same loudspeaker system that Paul W. Klipsch designed in 1946 and thus founded the company. It is also a special model of that loudspeaker, which is still manufactured and offered in almost unchanged form.
