JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 are two new over-ear headphone models from Harman International Industries that expand the JBL Quantum Series created by the JBL brand.

The JBL Quantum Series is a product line that was developed specifically for gaming and is intended to offer fine sound with the special needs that are particularly relevant for ambitious gamers when using a PC or a game console. In addition, and this is becoming more and more important, the solutions of the JBL Quantum Series are also excellently suited for use in home schooling or home learning as well as for the home office. Of course, all this also applies to the two new models JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810, which Harman International Industries presented for the first time at CES 2022 in Las Vegas.

JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 – Over-ear Gaming Headset

When it comes to solutions aimed specifically at gamers, the first and foremost requirement is a signal connection with the lowest possible latency, so that you can capture the action around your own game character in the best possible way and react accordingly.

This is exactly what the JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 solutions are supposed to offer, because they primarily rely on signal transmission based on loss-free radio in the 2.4 GHz range. As a counterpart to the headphones, the JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 solutions therefore come with a matching USB-C dongle, which is used to connect to a PC or a game console. As an alternative, at least for the JBL Quantum 810, Bluetooth 5.2 is also available, so that these headphones can also be used with a smartphone or tablet or any other compatible source.

The JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 are designed to deliver an immersive gaming experience with surround sound, featuring JBL QuantumSURROUND and DTS Headphone:X 2.0.

The manufacturer refers to the new JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 models as having 50 mm drivers driven by JBL QuantumSOUND Signature, promising dynamic, detailed imaging.

The JBL Quantum 810 even offers Active Noise-Cancelling to ensure an undisturbed performance.

Optimal communication

While the JBL Quantum 610 is equipped with a beam microphone with echo and noise cancellation, the manufacturer refers to the JBL Quantum 810 as a flip-up boom microphone with voice focus and automatic on/off muting.

In both cases, you should be well-equipped to stay in touch with your fellow players, with both models featuring a game-chat audio control positioned in the ear cup to control the voice and game volume, designed for Discord, the world’s most popular chat application.

For particularly long game sessions

The JBL Quantum 610 model already has a battery life of up to 30 hours, and the new JBL Quantum 810 even has a battery life of up to 40 hours, according to the manufacturer. Both models are also equipped with a Play & Charge function that allows you to play even when the battery is not charged.

Integrated RGB lighting

Both models feature integrated RGB lighting, which, like numerous other functions, can be controlled via the JBL QuantumENGINE PC software. This software also allows individual EQ settings and, in the case of the JBL Quantum 810, adjustment of the integrated noise-cancelling function.

High wearing comfort

The JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 are designed to be lightweight, so even hours of use are comfortable. Softly padded earpieces and ear cups, and even memory foam and leather on the JBL Quantum 810, also contribute to the high level of comfort.

Prices and availability

According to the manufacturer, the two new models of the JBL Quantum Series are expected to come onto the market in spring 2022. You can expect to pay €149 for these in the case of the new JBL Quantum 610 and €179 for the JBL Quantum 810.

Getting to the point

Even though the new JBL Quantum 610 and JBL Quantum 810 solutions from Harman International Industries are primarily over-ear headphones designed for gamers, these headphones from the JBL Quantum Series are certainly suitable for other tasks. So there is nothing to stop them from being used for home schooling as well as for the home office, because the same requirements apply for these applications as for gaming.
