It’s done – Primare NP5 Prisma now completely Roon Ready

Primare AB is pleased to announce that the Primare NP5 Prisma is indeed fully Roon Ready certified. But that’s not all, in the near future this will also apply to other solutions from the Swedish hi-fi manufacturer that rely on Primare Prisma Technology.

The software company Roon Labs LLC. was rapidly able to establish itself as one of the leading providers in the field of multi-room audio streaming. The Roon software is regarded as an outstanding media management and multi-room audio streaming solution that represents a manufacturer-independent platform. To achieve this, Roon Labs LLC. relied on a partner programme from the very beginning in order to get as many manufacturers of streaming clients and D/A converters on board as possible. And indeed, many of them did use the solution from Roon Labs LLC. so that they could quickly refer to an impressive number of industry partners and an equally impressive number of supported products.

However, at some point they took it quite easy when it came to certification, not only on the part of the hardware partners, but also at Roon Labs LLC itself. Last year, it was realised that this lax approach to certification could be detrimental in the long run, because if apparently certified solutions do not work smoothly with Roon software, consumer confidence is lost.

So Roon Labs LLC. tightened the reins, and in one fell swoop, solutions that did not pass the certification process to full satisfaction were no longer supported. Of course, this put many partners in a tight spot, because suddenly a very important marketing feature for some of their solutions disappeared. Even worse, customers had sometimes bought products primarily on the basis of Roon Ready, a promise that could no longer be kept.

This also applied to the Swedish hi-fi manufacturer Primare AB, whose streaming platform Primare Prisma Technology relied on Roon Ready as an essential marketing message.

Now, however, it seems that Primare AB can present the Primare NP5 Prisma, the first solution that is fully Roon Ready, even under the new tightened specifications of Roon Labs LLC.

The Primare NP5 Prisma is the network player for everyone, according to the manufacturer. It offers all the features of the “big” Primare Prisma models, with Primare Prisma Technology adding Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth, plus now Roon Ready functionality, making it even more powerful and serving as the foundation for a powerful, flexible hi-res audio multi-room streaming solution.

The Primare NP5 Prisma is specifically designed to be small enough to fit unobtrusively into any system. The Primare NP5 Prisma can therefore be connected to almost any audio system and provide high quality streaming.

Of course, this also lays the foundation that Primare AB will soon be able to classify all other systems based on Primare Prisma Technology as actually fully Roon Ready. The manufacturer also states that they are already working at full speed on this, with the corresponding updates to be installed automatically as soon as they are available.

Getting to the point…

There you go! Well, it took a little longer than originally planned, but now Primare AB can announce that with Primare NP5 Prisma the first solution based on Primare Prisma Technology is completely Roon Ready, even under the new, stricter conditions of the software forge Roon Labs LLC. All other solutions from Primare AB with Primare Prisma Technology will also be fully Roon Ready in the near future.
