Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker

The subsidiary of the Lenbrook Group, Bluesound Professional, is expanding its range to include so-called PoE speakers, solutions that are designed for the area of custom installation and are intended to allow streaming based on BluOS, the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker.

Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker, the latest solution from Bluesound Professional, the company that, as part of the Lenbrook Group, is dedicated to solutions in the area of custom installation.

The new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speakers are so-called PoE speakers, and thus systems that allow a particularly flexible installation.

Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker based on BluOS

How could it be otherwise, of course, BluOS is used and with it the streaming technology that has been the basis for the streaming systems of all companies of the Lenbrook Group for years, be it NAD Electronics International, Bluesound International or the newest subsidiary Bluesound Professional.

Responsible for this streaming platform is the software company BluOS, which was also spun off as an independent company.

Optimised for Custom Installation

As described, the core task of Bluesound Professional is to devote itself to solutions specifically designed for the custom installation sector, i.e. systems for sound reinforcement in business premises, shops, restaurants and hotels.

Even if there is of course a certain “close relationship” to conventional products in the classic consumer segment, Bluesound Professional products always have features that are relevant for an installation in a business environment.

PoE – Power supply via network

PoE is one such feature, as this abbreviation stands for Power over Ethernet, whereby the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker uses PoE+ IEEE 802.3 at Type 2 with 30 watts.

This ensures that a separate cable does not have to be laid for the power supply; instead, this is carried out directly via the network connection by means of a cable, which is necessary anyway for reliable functioning under all circumstances. A single cable is therefore sufficient to operate the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speakers.

Full-range speaker with Class D

The manufacturer explicitly points out that the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker is a so-called full-range speaker, which of course benefits from the expertise of another Canadian company that is part of the Lenbrook Group, namely psb Speakers.

There is also a certain similarity in design to the speaker systems from the Bluesound range, which is not surprising, as these are also based on the experience of the developers at psb Speakers.

The Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker is designed as a classic two-way system, whereby it is of course an active speaker system.

A 3.5 inch woofer is combined with a 1 inch tweeter, whereby a frequency range between 45 Hz and 20 kHz can be reproduced.

Based on a DPS-based signal processing by means of an ARM Cortex A1 1 GHz processor including all associated possibilities, such as an adjustment by means of EQ, the Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker is operated by means of Class D amplifier modules and delivers 23 watts.

BluOS as a basis

Since the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker is based on BluOS, it can be used particularly flexibly, just like any other streaming solution based on it.

A Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker can be defined as a zone on its own, whereby it can of course be combined with any other BluOS-compatible devices. It is also possible to connect two Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speakers to form a stereo pair.

Via BluOS, you can access your own content as well as various online offers. This includes Spotify, Deezer, TIDAL, Qobuz, and many, many services as well as Internet radio and podcasts.

What is particularly exciting in this context is that you can also define custom channels, which means that you can also call up content you have created yourself directly. A feature that is of immense importance, especially in the business environment, but also in the gastronomy and hotel industry.

The BluOS system and thus also the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker supports content up to 24 bit and 192 kHz and can also play content encoded in lossy MQA with DRM.

Central Control via App and Extended Options in the Custom Installation Area

The BluOS Control App, which is available for Apple iOS, Google Android, Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS, is of course once again the central control.

In addition, however, there are further options specially designed for the CI area, such as the Bluesound Professional CP100 Wall Mount Controller. Special security functions should also be mentioned here, for example to prevent access by unauthorised persons, be it staff or, above all, guests.

In addition, as with all solutions based on BluOS, direct integration into leading control solutions is of course possible, be it Control4, RTI, Crestron and other systems.

The new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker measures 125 x 183 x 100 mm and weighs 1.23 kg.

Of course, the manufacturer offers a suitable wall-mounting solution for the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker, which allows flexible positioning with an inclination of up to 40° and a rotation of 360°.

The new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker will be available in black or white and is expected to be available to Custom Installation Partners in the summer of 2021.

Getting to the point

Once again, Bluesound Professional is expanding its range with active speaker systems that can be used particularly flexibly as part of the BluOS system and designed as so-called PoE speakers. The previously offered solutions Bluesound Professional BSP500 and Bluesound Professional BSP1000 are now followed by the new Bluesound Professional BSP200 Network Streaming Speaker to extend the range downwards.
