BC Acoustique EX Series – New amplifier, CD receiver and CD player

It was founded by the BC Acoustique EX-214, the BC Acoustique EX series of the French HiFi forge BC Acoustique, now this product line is to be extended by numerous solutions, namely the BC Acoustique EX-234, BC Acoustique EX-614 as well as BC Acoustique EX-714.

Just over a year ago, the French HiFi forge BC Acoustique founded the BC Acoustique BX Series with the BC Acoustique EX-214 Stereo Integrated Amplifier, now this product line is to be expanded drastically, namely with another amplifier, a CD receiver and a CD player. The new BC Acoustique EX-234 Integrated Amplifier, the BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System and the BC Acoustique EX-614 CD-Player are announced. As has been the case so far, all of the above-mentioned solutions are intended to provide hi-fi components that offer impressive quality and functionality at a particularly attractive price and thus ultimately provide an outstanding price-performance ratio.

BC Acoustique EX Series – At affordable prices

High-quality HiFi solutions do not have to be expensive, this opinion represents the HiFi smithy BC Acoustique already in the year 1993 of Christian Avedissian and Bruno Roux near Paris based. The BC Acoustique EX Series should be just a prime example of this, especially now that this is actually expanded to a full-fledged product line.

As already mentioned, the French laid the foundation for the BC Acoustique EX Series last year with the BC Acoustique EX-214 Stereo Integrated Amplifier, which was to feature flexible connection options, sufficient power and a fine sound at an attractive price.

The BC Acoustique EX-234 Integrated Amplifier, the BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System and the BC Acoustique EX-614 CD Player are all designed to follow this recipe for success.

BC Acoustique EX-234 Integrated Amplifier

The new BC Acoustique EX-234 Integrated Amplifier is the most powerful representative of its kind in the BC Acoustique product range. After all, this stereo integrated amplifier delivers two times 80 watts to speaker systems with an impedance of 8 ohms, as well as two times 140 watts at only 4 ohms.

The BC Acoustique EX-234 Integrated Amplifier is equipped for both analog and digital sources. Two analog RCA inputs and one analog XLR input, one 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack, one MM phono input, as well as two optical and two coaxial inputs should make the amplifier a connection-friendly control center for the HiFi rack.

The Bluetooth module of the BC Acoustique EX-234 Integrated Amplifier should not be forgotten to mention, as it offers the possibility to directly integrate smartphones and tablets as versatile sources.

For digital signal processing, the amplifier is equipped with an AKM AK4112 chip from Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation as well as a TI PCM1606E from Texas Instruments, whereby signals with up to 24 bit and 192 kHz are supported via the optical as well as coaxial S/PDIF interface.

The front of course has a rotary encoder for controlling the volume, but also controls for balance, treble and bass, as well as buttons for selecting the input and a 6.3 mm stereo jack for connecting headphones. On the back, there are solid screw terminals for the speaker systems in addition to the already mentioned inputs, and a subwoofer can be connected via a pre-out.

BC Acoustique EX-614 CD Player

The new BC Acoustique EX-614 CD player is intended to serve as an optimal playing partner for the stereo integrated amplifiers of the BC Acoustique EX Series. The developers trust in a so-called slot-in design and promise a particularly exact reading of optical data carriers.

Interestingly, the new BC Acoustique EX-614 CD player has a USB port directly on the front. Here, corresponding storage media can be used directly to play back audio data.

Signal processing is handled by an AKM AK4432 DAC, which processes audio signals at up to 32 bits and 192 kHz and outputs them via an analog output in the form of a pair of RCA jacks. As an alternative, however, digital outputs are also available here in the form of an optical as well as coaxial S/PDIF interface.

The front offers a display that, in addition to the tracks of a CD, also shows CD text and, of course, their ID3 tags when playing audio data from a USB stick. Playback is controlled via corresponding buttons, and a headphone jack in the form of a 6.3 mm stereo jack is available for music enjoyment without speakers.

BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System

The French manufacturer describes the new BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System as a true all-rounder, a CD receiver that should prove to be an all-round carefree package. A CD player, implemented as a slot-in drive, an FM and DAB tuner, with which 40 transmit memories are available, Bluetooth, USB for the playback of data directly from corresponding data carriers in the formats WMA and MP3, as well as a phono preamplifier for drives with MM pickup systems and of course analog as well as digital inputs for further external sources are united here.

The signal processing of digital sources takes place here via a TI PCM1606E DAC from Texas Instruments, whereby signals in Linear PCM with up to 24 bits and 192 kHz are supported.

An optical as well as coaxial S/PDIF interface is available for digital sources, a pair of RCA sockets is available as analog input.

An external subwoofer can be integrated via a pre-out, also designed as an RCA socket, which is particularly practical when the BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System is operated in conjunction with compact speaker systems to obtain a little more sovereignty in the low frequency range.

The BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System delivers a power of twice 45 watts to speaker systems with 8 ohms impedance and twice 70 watts at 4 ohms.

Again, not only is there a rotary encoder for volume on the front, there are also numerous buttons and a display for easy control, while the BC Acoustique EX-714 Stereo System’s capabilities also include tone control.

Headphones can be connected via a 6.3 mm stereo jack, which is also mentioned here for the sake of completeness.
