Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 Headset – The business headset for the hybrid working world

Together with Cisco Systems Inc., Bang & Olufsen developed the new Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset, a solution for what the company describes as today’s hybrid working world.

The new Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset is the result of an unusual partnership between the Danish audio specialist Bang & Olufsen and the IT company Cisco Systems Inc.

What may appear to be an unusual collaboration at first glance, however, is quite a coherent picture on closer inspection, because it addresses an environment that has increasingly become the focus of attention in recent months, namely the home office.

Today’s hybrid working world

The home office is an increasingly important topic in today’s working world, which is one of the reasons why we speak of a hybrid working world. Employees are no longer limited to their workplace in the office; in fact, many people can actually pursue their occupation completely flexibly at any location. The latest forms of communication and a working world increasingly based on cloud-based solutions make this possible.

A question of safety

However, one very important aspect must not be neglected here, and that is the issue of security. And as unusual as this may sound at first, when it comes to security, everything really does play an important role, even a headset used for video calls.

Nothing, but absolutely nothing, can be left out of modern IT solutions, because everything that is somehow included in the IT of a company must meet the highest security standards. This goes so far that even headsets should be part of the security system. And this is exactly what the cooperation between Bang & Olufsen and the US company Cisco Systems Inc. aims to achieve.

In many cases, headsets are used in companies that are by no means comfortable tools, let alone optimised for high sound quality.

Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset – safety plus sound quality and wearing comfort

The new Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset, on the other hand, is supposed to be completely different, with the manufacturer talking about a luxurious business headset.

The Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset is said to combine a unique combination of Bang & Olufsen’s timeless design, unsurpassed craftsmanship and powerful sound with Cisco Systems Inc.’s integrated meeting controls, adaptive active noise cancellation and straightforward IT management features to ensure lasting and secure communications.

“Clear and uninterrupted audio is essential for hybrid work environments. We are delighted to partner with Bang & Olufsen, the leader in luxury audio solutions, to bring the highest quality business audio device to market: a combination of upscale aesthetics, comprehensive functionality and fantastic quality.”

Long-lasting comfort and timeless design

The Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset is designed for maximum comfort. It is made from a lightweight structure that has been carefully engineered with high-quality materials to ensure a stable, durable fit for all-day use.

Crystal clear communication

Bang & Olufsen draws on decades of experience to deliver superior acoustics and audio reproduction for calls, meetings, video and even music experiences. This includes the fact that the Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset is equipped with so-called beamforming microphone arrays that create a virtual microphone arm, as well as adaptive active noise cancellation for an even more impressive listening experience. The rich, lifelike sound gives users the feeling of being there themselves, and the excellent noise cancellation ensures that users can concentrate on the task at hand.

Enhanced features for business

The new Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset uses Bluetooth 5.1, but with so-called Webex integrations to meet even the highest security requirements. In addition, practical features such as voice announcements and controls on the ear are part of the basic equipment, with which the user can easily mute, accept or end calls. Bang & Olufsen describes the capabilities of the new Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset as industry-leading connectivity and functionality.

Enterprise-level management and security

IT administrators can easily set up, manage and analyse the Bang & Olufsen Cisco 980 headset in real-time – all from a single platform. It also offers enterprise-grade hardware and software protection to keep calls and conversations secure.

“We look forward to working with Cisco and building on the strengths of both brands. Customers today expect a product they can use at home, at work or on the go – and one that looks and feels great. We’re blending Cisco’s industry-leading technologies with our recognised expertise in sound, design and craftsmanship to create the ultimate audio product for the hybrid work environment.”

Kristian Teär, CEO Bang & Olufsen
