Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo – Elegant universal solution for the Bang & Olufsen Music System

The new Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo is designed as a central control solution, as the universal remote control for all solutions of the Bang & Olufsen Music System, which is supposed to be the easiest way to access music, without a smartphone or tablet and the corresponding apps.

For some time now, Bang & Olufsen has been working on solutions that can be used not only on their own, but above all in combination with other products, i.e. systems that are part of the Bang & Olufsen Music System. For these, of course, we offer a wide range of intuitive control options, especially apps for smartphones. However, the user often does not want to have to use an app for simple functions, but is looking for a control solution that is always at hand and allows convenient control of all functions.

A remote control that does not look like a normal remote control, but rather a design object, and that offers all the functionality that an app has to offer, is how Bang & Olufsen describes the new Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo. The Halo has a very special shape, which makes it possible to place it on a piece of furniture or mount it on the wall. A touch screen display guarantees intuitive operation and supports both Bluetooth and WiFi.

As a table stand, the Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo sits enthroned either on a table or other furniture, and as a wallmount it blends discreetly into the living room.

The ring that surrounds the actual remote control is particularly striking, and is made of aluminium. It is also part of the remote control, so it is not just a design accent, but more about that.

This solution is designed so that normally no light disturbs the atmosphere of the room, only when you approach the Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo with your hand, the touch screen display is activated by means of an integrated proximity sensor.

The display serves as the central interface, where the main task is to select the source for the systems to be controlled and to control the playback. The volume is controlled via the aforementioned ring, which literally borders the Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo.

The new Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo can make contact with the systems to be controlled via both Bluetooth and WiFi, with the remote control itself deciding which type is the best.

In addition to Bluetooth and WiFi, the new Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo has USB-C and LAN interfaces, which is particularly interesting from a power supply point of view, as Power over Ethernet, also known as PoE, is supported, although this is only optional with a PoE adapter. The Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo has an integrated rechargeable battery, which is especially exciting when placed freely in the room. It is charged via USB-C or wireless charging via the Qi standard.

According to the manufacturer, the new Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo is suitable for controlling various Bang & Olufsen solutions. The manufacturer states that the Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo can control Beolab Speakers and Beosound Shape via Beosound Core. It can also control the Beovision Eclipse and Beovision Harmony solutions directly, as well as the Multiroom Speaker Beosound Stage, Beosound 1 of the first and second generation, Beosound 2 of the first and second generation, Beoplay A9 of the second, third and fourth generation, Beoplay M3, Beoplay M5, Beoplay A6, Beosound Edge, Beosound 35 and Beosound Essence of the second generation.

This very special design is 12.8 cm in diameter and 3.8 cm in depth. When wall-mounted, the solution is actually 4 cm deep, when used as a table stand it is 11.1 cm deep and 11.7 cm high. The solution weighs 0.29 kg without accessories and 0.32 kg with a wall mounting device. The stand for placement on a piece of furniture ensures that the Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo weighs 0.54 kg.
The customer can choose between three versions. The manufacturer offers the new Bang & Olufsen Beoremote Halo in Brass Tone, Bronze Tone and Natural. Whether one chooses the table top or wall mounted version has no influence on the price. The price for both versions is € 750,-.
