Adam Audio T8V studio monitor – New in the Adam Audio T-Series

An active loudspeaker system, whose performance data and features should be unique in its price range, is available with the latest addition to the Adam Audio T-Series, the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor, according to the promise of the proven specialist for such systems, the German company Adam Audio GmbH.

Adam Audio GmbH, a German company founded in 1999 and part of the Focusrite Group, has always been a renowned specialist in active loudspeaker systems, with a particular focus on solutions for professional and semi-professional studios, but which can also be of great interest to ambitious hi-fi enthusiasts. After all, in both cases it is important to offer a reproduction that reproduces exactly what musicians, sound engineers and producers want to create.

Adam Audio GmbH prides itself on providing solutions that offer exceptionally transparent, clean reproduction, whose sound is free of discolouration and thus provides a solid, reliable basis as a tool in the studio and, as mentioned above, can certainly appeal to discerning Hi-Fi enthusiasts with a desire for particularly accurate reproduction.

One of the most important product lines offered by the Berlin-based company is the Adam Audio T Series, which was launched in 2018 with the Adam Audio T5V and Adam Audio T7V studio monitors and also includes the Adam Audio T10S subwoofer. The developers’ declared aim was to create a range of solutions that could rely on technology from the company’s top-of-the-range models, but offered them at a particularly attractive price. This is exactly what the latest model, the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor, is designed to do.

Adam Audio GmbH even goes so far as to state that the performance data and features of the new Adam Audio T8V, as with all models in the Adam Audio T Series, are unrivalled in their price range, as they offer features that come directly from the manufacturer’s flagship models, the so-called Adam Audio S Series.

Most notably, the Adam Audio U-ART tweeter, which stands for Unique Accelerated Ribbon Tweeter, is used in conjunction with a sophisticated waveguide. According to the Berlin-based company, the same sound radiation qualities are achieved as with the so-called HPS waveguide of the Adam Audio S-Series.

In the case of the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor, the tweeter is combined with an 8″ woofer with polypropylene cone and a rear-facing bass reflex system. This allows a frequency range between 33 Hz and 25 kHz to be reproduced.

The drivers are driven by a Class D amplifier, whereby 20 watts are available for the tweeter and another 70 watts for the woofer. After all, the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor should achieve a sound pressure level of no less than 118 dB per pair, enough power to fill the room with rich sound. Interestingly, DSP-based signal processing ensures optimal control and also provides an equalizer. The equalizer is accessible via selector switches on the rear panel and allows both high and low frequencies to be boosted and cut by 2 dB.

As with all models in the Adam Audio T Series, the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor has the characteristic design with bevelled edges and is available in black only.

Although the manufacturer praises the connection variety of the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor, in the end it is “only” an unbalanced as well as balanced analogue input, i.e. one RCA and one XLR connection, which is completely sufficient in practice.

The new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor measures 400 mm in height, 250 mm in width, and 335 mm in height, making it 9.8 kg.

Of course, the new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor can be combined with the Adam Audio T Series subwoofer, the Adam Audio T10S, to give the compact studio monitor a little more “depth” or the appropriate assertiveness in the lowest frequency range.

The new Adam Audio T8V studio monitor is expected to be available in specialist shops in the near future. The recommended retail price is stated by the manufacturer as € 299,- per unit. After registration, the manufacturer grants a five-year warranty.
