High End 2023 - Top class headphones and finest HiFi at Yamaha

Yamaha Music Europe GmbH is using this year's High End in Munich to present a particularly broad range of products. The focus will be on audiophile highlights, with both top-class headphones and the finest hi-fi systems in their luggage, partly in the form of familiar products, but above all with many a surprise.

Story Highlights
  • Yamaha Music Europe GmbH has a whole range of solutions ready for the High End 2023 in Munich.

Audiophile highlights and more are promised by Yamaha Music Europe GmbH for the High End 2023, which is scheduled for four days in Munich in mid-May. In addition to highlights from the current product portfolio, such as network receivers, loudspeaker systems and headphones, new solutions will also be presented for the first time, and the company even promises exclusive product unveilings.

In addition, and this is probably particularly exciting, this year’s schedule also includes exclusive listening sessions, for which Yamaha artist and jazz drummer Wolfgang Haffner has been enlisted to present his new album together with the streaming provider Qobuz.

Yamaha YH-5000SE Headphones – High-end headphones with orthodynamic driver

It was at the High End 2022 that selected journalists, including those from sempre-audio.at, were asked by Yamaha Music Europe GmbH to take part in an exclusive, very first listening session of a new pair of headphones, with the proviso that this was to be handled in strict confidence. It was not until December 2022 that Yamaha Music Europe GmbH made it official and presented the new Yamaha YH-5000SE, a true audiophile highlight and thus a reference-class headphone.

The Yamaha YH-5000SE is the result of years of extensive research and development work and uses the latest generation of so-called orthodynamic drivers, which are built into an ultra-light magnesium housing and whose ear cups are luxuriously padded to provide high-end sound in all respects.

True to the Yamaha True Sound philosophy, the Yamaha YH-5000SE should be able to reproduce every nuance of the music. In terms of technical data, this means that the headphones with an impedance of 34 ohms and a sensitivity of 98 dB can reproduce a frequency response between 5 Hz and 70 kHz.

The headphones are handmade in the historic Kakegawa factory. Famous for exclusive grand pianos, upright pianos, but also for outstanding audio components, this is the perfect place to produce the company’s new flagship headphone product. As a clear expression of the fact that it is a reference solution, the new headphones bear the number 5000 in the product name, an accolade from the point of view of the Japanese company, for which such symbols are of course immensely important and are accordingly virtually celebrated.

Yamaha R-N2000A and Yamaha NS-2000A

Speaking of 5000, of course the reference solutions from Yamaha Music Europe GmbH also bear this number in their name, the Yamaha 5000 Series. Its genes are also to be found in the Yamaha R-N2000A Network Receiver, the solution that Yamaha Music Europe GmbH is placing in the focus of the High End 2023 as a further product, together with the perfectly matching Yamaha NS-2000A floor-standing loudspeaker systems.

Exclusive product unveilings and listening session

Yamaha Music Europe GmbH also has many other exciting products in store, as mentioned earlier. Visitors can look forward to exclusive unveilings of new products and can also test the wide range of audio products directly.

As a special highlight, Yamaha Music Europe GmbH has also announced an exclusive listening session for 20 May at 15:00 in Atrium 4.2, F207.

Organised in conjunction with Qobuz, this hi-res audio listening session will feature the new album by Yamaha artist Wolfgang Haffner. Registration is required to experience the benefits of the streaming platform, which sees itself as one of the leading high-quality music platforms. Interested parties can sign up for the guest list at the Qobuz stand in Hall 2, G14.

Getting to the point

Yamaha Music Europe GmbH will present special audiophile highlights at the High End 2023 in Munich. Of course, the Yamaha YH-5000SE reference headphones will stand out in particular, but the presentation of the Yamaha R-N2000A network receiver and matching Yamaha NS-2000A loudspeakers should also be mentioned explicitly. It is also worth mentioning that many other exclusive product presentations await the visitors.
