Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier - New Standards in Home Cinema

A 15.4-channel 8K-capable AV processor and a 16-channel power amplifier, that's how the new Marantz brand team that Masimo Consumer is now launching as the new reference in the Marantz CINEMA Series home cinema range, the Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier.

Announced last year, the Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier are now available, a combination of AV processor or AV preamplifier and optimally matching multi-channel power amplifier. The two systems, the Marantz AV 10 and the Maranz AMP 10, are designed to set new standards in home cinema, Masimo Consumer is convinced.

Both systems are reference-class products designed to delight even the most discerning home theatre enthusiasts and deliver nothing less than breathtaking movie experiences in the comfort of their own homes, Masimo Consumer promises.

Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier from the Marantz CINEMA Series

The two systems Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier are part of the Marantz CINEMA Series, which Masimo Consumer already presented in autumn 2022 and described as a product line that sets new standards. This product line is the current home cinema line-up of the traditional Japanese brand Marantz, which offers the latest technical features, including support for content in 8K.

Actually, it is not necessary to mention this explicitly, but for the sake of good order it should be mentioned that the now available Marantz AV 10 and Maranz AMP 10 systems are designed as flagships of the Marantz CINEMA Series.

The two flagships

The 15.4-channel 8K-capable AV preamplifier or AV processor Marantz AV 10 is, as already mentioned, designed to thrill even demanding home cinema enthusiasts with breathtaking movie experiences. Thanks to the latest AV formats, it guarantees first-class picture quality and thrilling 3D sound, according to the manufacturer’s promise.

For absolute top performance, of course, they recommend combining the Marantz AV 10 with the Marantz AMP 10, a reference-class 16-channel power amplifier with 200 watts of power per channel, according to Masimo Consumer, and the most advanced and sophisticated amplifier architecture from the Marantz brand to date.

The Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier, like all solutions of the Marantz CINEMA Series, have been manufactured and tuned with special attention to detail, as the manufacturer explicitly emphasises. The high-quality materials and modern style are intended to reflect Marantz’s long tradition and outstanding performance. Carefully considered connectivity options and selectable amplifier modes also allow the home cinema experience to be tailored to individual preferences.

Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier

The Marantz AV 10 AV processor uses discrete Marantz HDAM and current feedback amplification, as well as other performance technologies, to deliver unparalleled performance, according to the manufacturer.

The Marantz AV 10 AV processor is capable of 15.4-channel signal processing, supporting all relevant formats including immersive 3D surround sound via Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D.

To ensure that it always achieves optimal results, installation is as simple as possible, including an intuitive HD setup assistant on the TV screen and the option of automatic room correction based on individual calibration of the listening room.

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is available to ensure that the reproduction is perfectly matched to the loudspeaker systems used and their position in the room. Optionally, the user can upgrade to DIRAC Live, which, according to the manufacturer, allows experienced users to perform professional remote calibration via PC or smart devices.

The Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier is said to offer numerous interfaces for analogue as well as digital sources, making it the perfect central interface in the home cinema, even in extensive configurations. First and foremost, of course, there are seven 8K-capable HDMI inputs, but also digital and analogue audio interfaces, including an integrated phono preamplifier. By the way, you don’t have to do without an integrated headphone amplifier either.

The Marantz AV 10 is equipped with HEOS built-in technology for streaming, which means that it can access a wide range of content on the local network and online services, and can also be used in combination with other products based on this streaming platform from Masimo Consumer. The HEOS app for Apple iOS and Google Android takes over the simple control.

Speaking of simple control, the new Marantz AV 10 AV processor is of course delivered with a matching remote control, whereby a particularly high-quality metal solution is used.

Prices and Availability

As already mentioned, the new Marantz AV team was already announced in autumn 2022, but now it is available. However, you’ll have to dig a little deeper into your pocket for it, as the recommended retail price for the arantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier is €7,000 each.

Getting to the point

Back in autumn 2022, Masimo Consumer announced a completely new product line in the home cinema sector, namely the Marantz CINEMA Series. This new product line of the Marantz brand, which consists of four network AV receivers as well as an AV preamplifier and an AV power amplifier, is supposed to set new standards. The latter two are now available as flagships of the Marantz CINEMA Series, namely the Marantz AV 10 AV Preamplifier and Marantz AMP 10 16 Channel Power Amplifier.
