System Audio SA Silverbar - The first soundbar from System Audio A/S

It is the first so-called soundbar that System Audio A/S now presents in the form of the new System Audio SA Silverbar. However, it should be noted that this solution is even more, at least if it goes according to the ideas of the Danish speaker specialist. Accordingly, the new System Audio SA Silverbar is also supposed to be a flexible all-in-one system that can be placed anywhere in the house where you want to enjoy music in the simplest way.

Whether placed freestanding or wall-mounted, the new System Audio SA Silverbar is designed to deliver the best sound in the living room, kitchen, bedroom, home office or children’s room, System Audio A/S promises.

System Audio SA Silverbar – Developed on the basis of the System Audio SA Silverback Series

It is interesting to note that although the new System Audio SA Silverbar was developed on the basis of the so-called System Audio SA Silverback Series, according to the manufacturer, it is not part of this product line. As flexible as the new System Audio SA Silverbar is supposed to be, it lacks a crucial feature, namely the support of WiSA, this for explanation and as a detail on the side.

But what has been borrowed for the new System Audio SA Silverbar based on the System Audio SA Silverback Series is its Driver Units, DSP-based signal processing, and Class D amplifier modules.

The high-frequency drivers and low-midrange chassis of the new System Audio SA Silverbar are each driven by one and thus a total of four amplifier modules in Class D, each of which can develop an output of 80 watts.

The aforementioned DSP-based signal processing primarily serves as a crossover, and also ensures that the individual drivers are always optimally controlled. But that’s not all, the DSP in the System Audio SA Silverbar can also be used for room correction.

The manufacturer thus promises a particularly impressive sound with a sovereign performance over a wide frequency range. System Audio A/S states that the System Audio SA Silverbar has a frequency range of 50 Hz to 25 kHz.

HDMI, Optical S/PDIF and analog

Since the new System Audio SA Silverbar is, of course, primarily designed as a soundbar, an HDMI port is available here for direct connection to a TV set. Here, a so-called ARC, i.e. an Audio Return Channel is supported and HDMI CEC is also available for central control directly via the TV’s remote control.

To connect additional source devices, the System Audio SA Silverbar has an optical S/PDIF interface as well as a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack, to which analog sources can be connected.

Flexible streaming via Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast

Of course, the most important sources for the new System Audio SA Silverbar are those that can be accessed via the network, and System Audio A/S made sure to support all relevant streaming platforms. Thus, the new System Audio SA Silverbar functions in the simplest case as a UPnP streaming client, but is also equipped for Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast.

Of course, the new System Audio SA Silverbar can also be used in a multi-room network with other streaming devices, whereby System Audio A/S – not entirely altruistically – first and foremost cites the solutions of the System Audio SA Silverback Series as play partners.

Finally, it should be mentioned that the new System Audio SA Silverbar has dimensions of 72.2 x 17 x 10.6 cm and can be placed both free-standing via the included stand, but also mounted on the wall via the mounting device, which can also be found in the package.

Prices and availability

According to the manufacturer, the new System Audio SA Silverbar should be available in the summer of 2023, with a choice of White Satin or Black Satin. The manufacturer lists the recommended retail price at € 1.785,-.

Getting to the point

With the new System Audio SA Silverbar, the Danish company System Audio A/S makes a classic soundbar available for the first time, although they explicitly point out that they designed this solution as a particularly high-quality all-in-one system quite well for pure music playback even without a TV in a wide variety of rooms and speak of a system that can access a wide variety of content particularly flexibly.
